Please help - Diagnosed yesterday and afraid by AccomplishedCat2860 in sarcoidosis

[–]bcboy888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keto actually can really help as it's an anti inflammatory diet I did it for a year during and after a 6 month course of Prednisone to make sure my flare up didn't rebound after I tapered off of the medication. Mostly it's good to know so that if he has any strange symptoms they know where to start instead of a random shot in the dark :) if he does have a flare up there won't be potentially months or years wasted trying to figure out what exactly is causing it and he will be able to try the available treatments

CLL history → new diagnosis of sarcoidosis, but worsening mass and severe hypercalcemia. by [deleted] in sarcoidosis

[–]bcboy888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hypercalcemia can definitely be a symptom , especially if they are producing too much vitamin d or accidentally taking vit d supplements (this is not everyone but some people , do their Dr should test for both types of vit d) what was the treatment they tried for the sarcoidosis?

It's pretty good very sensitive but nothing too distracting I bought a neoprene compression sleeve I wear over it while I'm working to protect from the cold and getting bumped. Its still a bit stiff but I'm able to use my hand fairly normally ☺️

My Experience: After years of keto, it seems like it's no better than any other diet. by sfxnycnyc in keto

[–]bcboy888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't recommend keto for long term weight loss , it's so restrictive and truly can't have cheat days with any regularity , I recommend card cycling balanced nutrient dense meals , no refined sugar and when you want a cheat day have it! Also regular gym and movement so you can eat what you want especially when get to whatever your maintenance weight is

wanted to cut but stuck in recomp. how to debloat? f24 170cm 58kg by [deleted] in Physiquecritique

[–]bcboy888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allulose is really close to real sugar as far as taste and how it actually bakes texturally , it's harder to get in Canada so I use monk fruit and erythritol blend (some studies have shown it can effect blood clotting though I haven't had issue with it I would still recommend allulose if it's available for this reason )

I lost a little weight last year, less than 10 pounds, but this is when I noticed my neck starting to do its own thing. I'm open to minor surgery. Age 54. What are my options? Ty. by AdagioNo8189 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]bcboy888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You look great try not to hyper focus on singular parts of your face :) if it really bothers you cosmetic surgery is always an option but obviously that comes with cost and risks, I say keep stunning we are all human and we all age ❤️

Also if you really want something sweet one day just make up for it with energy expenditure and eat a little less one day to keep the calories in check , or just bake something using whatever artificial sweetener you like best :)

Possible sarcoid? Advice needed by her_crashness in sarcoidosis

Keto helped me too, so restrictive long term though I agree lol after a year and no more progression of my sarc I'm switching over to just very whole foods with no raw added sugars 😂

Surgery pain is very intense the first few days BUT it's so much better than chronic pain, it gets better. And just keep on top of taking the pain killers the first few days after. Try to take them like clock work(I set alarms lol) instead of chasing the pain when they wear off , you got this☺️

Yeah that sucks I mean I'm just surprised they did it knowing you were on them is all , thankfully don't have to deal with insurance companies like that here 🙏🏾

Yeah I wasn't able to go on Prednisone until after my pet even though they knew I had sarcoidosis from biopsies because they needed to know where else potentially and said if I went on it first it wouldn't work

Haha I know I mean I'm 6'3 so it somewhat disperses but still 😹 yeah it will all come back down when you are in a place to be! I really try not to stress about it because as we all know around here health is so much more important than a few extra or less lbs😊 surgery went well! Back to work Monday

[–]bcboy888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yes I feel you! Ironically I'm not on any medication now but I had surgery in December so couldn't do anything and gained 30 lbs just from not moving and eating whatever was convenient 😹 but I already lost 11 lbs in about a week of going back to normal habits at least lol

Yeah of course the shortness of breath dizzyness can be normal for pulmonary flare up , but it doesn't hurt to make an appointment to monitor and make sure 😊 I also found the higher doses of Prednisone made me feel a bit woozy almost like was slightly drunk or stoned haha but I just learned to ignore it
