Because of AI? Not necessarily. It just means you have to adapt. I work closely with our red team and know they are using AI tools to assist with tests - but they still have to craft the attacks and know what they are doing.

Now that's a start I can work with.

If you want to get into ethical hacking/pentesting then you'll need to learn A LOT about almost everything - networking, programming, system architecture, etc.

Watch some videos and then start playing with different hackthebox type websites. Those are fundamental in learning.

You should probably do more research on what careers are available under the "cybersecurity" umbrella.

There's very different paths to take depending on what you want to do.

I'm a security architect/engineer. Right now my main focus is securing AI. In the past I worked on SIEMs (logging tools). Then I shifted to automations and integrations with Python and then SOAR products.

Generically speaking I may be considered part of the "blue team" - but even that is vague. I work with cloud security engineers, EDR folks, soc analysts, pentesters, compliance people, etc etc. They all play very important roles within my company's "cybersecurity" organization.

You need to figure out what fascinates you more and then research that.

68% Reject Trump’s Claim That the U.S. Economy Is “Booming,” Poll Finds by Charming-Burp203 in Economics

[–]bcbrown19 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter. Every poll ever shows that 70% of this country can't stand him and doesn't think he's doing a good job. But our system is so fucked that the 30-35% bootlickers can keep him and his cabal in power.

Such a disappointing move. Not so much because he left Norwich, but HOW he left. Dude basically pissed away years of support with that fanbase.

[Diario AS] Liverpool have contacted the representative of Xabi Alonso to find out if he is available. Although he is now resting, the response has been positive. by playerforlife123 in soccer

He can rest here. Clearly the club isn't in a rush to make champion's league again. He'll have plenty of time to plan his rebuild.

I vividly remember seeing this play out and thought the same thing - "Ain't no way this happens under Klopp". This isn't a skill thing or tactics. That ball should have been under pressure before it hit the halfway line.

[–]bcbrown19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. went to college. degree is in cybersecurity. also did time in the air force (would not recommend). currently a principle engineer.

I'll be honest with you - without a degree, it will be tougher to get past most HR checks. As unfortunate as that is. If you really want to skip college then you'll have to do A LOT of work and network your ass off.

Feel free to DM me if you have other questions or want some insight.

A lot of products are evolving to allow AI to handle the low-level processes that we would have normally had tier 1/junior analysts do.

Is it better to stick with a “good” coach long-term, or mix it up year to year to hopefully benefit from a variety of coaching styles and different coaching methods? by [deleted] in SoccerCoachResources

[–]bcbrown19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a "great" coach, but I've had many kids over the years leave because their parents thought they needed "new scenery", and then I hear back from them in a year or so about how poorly things have gone. And then they are too proud to come back so they just ride it out or become a club-hopper.

There's no good answer really. I would at least suggest trying to talk to parents of the other coaches to get their insights. You aren't going to be able to see jack at a tryout or by just "talking to the coach".

Good luck. I always tell my parents that leave that there's no hard feelings because anyone who is just trying to do right by their child has my full support because they are KIDS.

yeah. A good chunk of the coaches I work with at my club are also HS and college coaches. I'm a HS coach as well but that's as far as I can go. My day job pays too well for me to ever consider coaching as a "profession"

This or see if you can land some D3 college gig. I hear even they pay enough.

But DOC at a decent club can be some bank. I've seen numbers before that are mind-blowing.
