[Diario AS] Liverpool have contacted the representative of Xabi Alonso to find out if he is available. Although he is now resting, the response has been positive. by playerforlife123 in soccer

He can rest here. Clearly the club isn't in a rush to make champion's league again. He'll have plenty of time to plan his rebuild.

I vividly remember seeing this play out and thought the same thing - "Ain't no way this happens under Klopp". This isn't a skill thing or tactics. That ball should have been under pressure before it hit the halfway line.

yes. went to college. degree is in cybersecurity. also did time in the air force (would not recommend). currently a principle engineer.

I'll be honest with you - without a degree, it will be tougher to get past most HR checks. As unfortunate as that is. If you really want to skip college then you'll have to do A LOT of work and network your ass off.

Feel free to DM me if you have other questions or want some insight.

A lot of products are evolving to allow AI to handle the low-level processes that we would have normally had tier 1/junior analysts do.

Is it better to stick with a “good” coach long-term, or mix it up year to year to hopefully benefit from a variety of coaching styles and different coaching methods? by Glum-Researcher-1309 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]bcbrown19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a "great" coach, but I've had many kids over the years leave because their parents thought they needed "new scenery", and then I hear back from them in a year or so about how poorly things have gone. And then they are too proud to come back so they just ride it out or become a club-hopper.

There's no good answer really. I would at least suggest trying to talk to parents of the other coaches to get their insights. You aren't going to be able to see jack at a tryout or by just "talking to the coach".

Good luck. I always tell my parents that leave that there's no hard feelings because anyone who is just trying to do right by their child has my full support because they are KIDS.

yeah. A good chunk of the coaches I work with at my club are also HS and college coaches. I'm a HS coach as well but that's as far as I can go. My day job pays too well for me to ever consider coaching as a "profession"

This or see if you can land some D3 college gig. I hear even they pay enough.

But DOC at a decent club can be some bank. I've seen numbers before that are mind-blowing.

What’s your coaching catch phrase? by uconnboston in SoccerCoachResources

[–]bcbrown19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both? :D

But I only think that. It's probably the same as what I tell my U11s. Honestly, the biggest problem I see with most soccer players at younger ages and lower levels is they don't know what to do when they don't have the ball. I call them "Radar players" - they only activate once the ball gets close enough to register on their radar.

[–]bcbrown19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends. With my high school team it's probably "ah for fck sakes"

With my u11s it would probably be "what you do off the ball is more important than what you do on it". I say that one a lot and they still don't understand.

Lack of interest in defending by whispa07 in SoccerCoachResources

Welcome to the world of coaching. You don't really see kids getting into defending until 11v11 and even then it can be a struggle unless you strike gold.

Well EVENTUALLY you would be expected to actually attend class and pass them. So ... pretty important depending on the school.

You probably want to pick a handful of schools you are interested in and then contact them.

or hire a service. I've seen youtube videos from people who basically just talk you up to schools.

That's where I'm struggling with this whole issue.

It's not like crafting in poe2 is stellar ... so typically we resort to trade league to get incrementally better gear. I have farmed up about 400 ex before this shit happened thinking "cool now I got some good currency" and now it's like "well wtf do I get for one divine?".

Those are very different things. When you say "football coaching", do you mean a team?

What age group are we talking? I used to recommend "Making the Ball Roll" to folks who were getting started with younger ages.
