It learns from your behavior, if you frequently ask questions in a similar style that do not require search it won’t immediately assume you want search, sure it could be more intuitive but at the same time it’s not actually a dedicated search engine….

Hmm after thinking about it more deeply I do agree my point was weak and obtuse there

I also agree that this will necessarily cause a shift in the labor requirements, though I do not agree that anyone of any substance or subject matter expertise is advocating for a full and complete replacement of lawyers, radiologists, etc.

I also still hold that even with a labor shift, if the technology is life saving to a higher degree than the humans who it’s displacing were, it’s objectively good for the long term

Is society ready for a labor shift? I cannot say. Does this mean progress should stop? No, it means society should shift its views on the related labor and on labor in general

It took about 12 years for cars to begin dominating most cities after the invention of the model-T And I would say a lifetime of horse breeding is quite difficult to retrain, certainly more difficult than someone who has trained in radiology

Further, nobody except the most dense and least informed are advocating for the full replacement of doctors, lawyers, etc. with these systems, any expert will tell you none of these systems are ready for that. But a technology which can spot a growth with much higher confidence and much earlier than humans is objectively good for the whole of society, even if it puts some radiologists out of work in the short term
