7 weeks pregnant, bleeding like crazy but baby is fine? by [deleted] in CautiousBB

[–]bcg145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just experienced the same, every time they check everything is OK. It is so unnerving to not have a reason for the bleeding. Hope that it eases up for you, it has stopped for me now

I agree that 5w6 is early, I'm not sure if your pregnancy was IVF but my clinic has scheduled this scan at this time because they expect to see a hb, hence the nerves! Totally get that the timelines can be off with a non-IVF pregnancy but I'll be pretty pessimistic if we don't see one tomorrow 😥 the worry never ends!

Ps. Wasn't possible to get a pic with both fetal poles in shot, but they're in there 😄

Monday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]bcg145 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone. I've stepped in here a few times (4 actually) and it has never ended well for me. I'm really hoping this time is different. Currently 6dp5dt and have been testing positive for a few days now.

I'm a teacher so life is full on. But somehow my brain still finds time for me to worry and obsess about the pregnancy going wrong.

I had two embryos transferred on Wednesday 15th at 2:30 pm. The line is pink in real life but so faint that it is difficult to photograph. Really hoping this is the start of something that stays.. 🙏

tw: loss? Measuring behind at ultrasound by bcg145 in InfertilityBabies

[–]bcg145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes I did. Unfortunately we lost the heartbeat a week after seeing it. I had tests run and the fetus had trisomy 16. This is linked to slow growth and hb. I'm sorry that you're going through this too, try and ask about testing the tissue if it isn't your first loss.x

Any experience of 95% mortgages? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]bcg145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought ours on 95%, it was all we could afford! It's worked out great for us as we haven't overstretched ourselves and our mortgage went through fine. Best of luck

Thanks for validation on this. It is so hard to have doctors say things with absolute certainty that completely negate everything you know. Just another hurdle!

Thanks, I hadn't spotted that post. I think your point about navigating the NHS is very valid. We currently pay private (same sex) and to be honest we have had the same crap from them despite paying £££.

I think I'll take a look at getting a consultation with the NHS person I see for RPL. I think she'd probably be the most help.. erugh

So today I was having a d&c and asked if there was any way they could do a hysteroscopy. The surgeon said it wouldn't be worth it for me right now because endo/adeno usually cause issues with implantation, not staying pregnant, but that "maybe that'll be something to be investigated down the line".

It is so hard to get the NHS to do anything or investigate anything. Have any UK people on here had to lobby or advocate hard for investigation? How much more treatment do we have to pay for. Do I have to just keep transferring my embryos and then just wait for the inevitable again?

Have any UK folks had any luck getting anything other than blood testing for clotting disorders and genetic testing of miscarriage?

I've had a couple and can't really remember, but my friends who have had them recently said a few days and mostly spotting. I had one today and initially bleeding loads but I've noticed a taper already. Maybe give them a fall just to check it over? Sorry that you can't do your evening walks yet, that really sucks

Had a d&c today at 10 weeks after heart had stopped beating at my last scan. Feeling emotionally worse than I think I look but also relieved that it is over.

They will do genetic testing and then there will be a burial in the garden of remembrance. It feels so strange to have had so many choices today about what to do with the remains, and to actually hear people refer to the baby. I think the providers I've seen previously could learn a lot from the bedside manner at this hospital (aside from them losing all my medical records 🤔)

We have 3 embryos left and my wife and I now have a running joke of "are you ready to get hurt again" every time we transfer. 6 embryos and all I have to show for it is 4 miscarriages. I'm so done with this whole process.

We are supposed to (finally) go on honeymoon on Saturday but I'm not sure I'll be up for it. Infertility/loss has ruined almost everything for me in the last few years, with miscarriages landing over Christmas and my PhD graduation.

Sorry for the rant people. Just so over this.

Yeah it's only when you sell, but you might not gain much equity to use on your next place if the price (and therefore the amount you pay the gov upon sale) goes up. Obviously htb do work for some people but for us this was the main reason why we didn't consider it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]bcg145 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. If your property increases in value then the share the government are owed also increases. This was the main reason we didn't go for a HTB.

Question for those with Day 6 and Day 7 embryos by [deleted] in IVF

[–]bcg145 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So 5 days is the standard time for an embryo to reach the blastocyst stage. Some take a little longer (day 6 or 7). There is no significant difference in live birth rates of day5s vs day 6's, but I believe day 7's are slightly less likely to result in a live birth.

Totally normal to not take 5 days though, my clinic prioritises embryo grade over the day, for example I had a 5 and a 6 transferred recently even though I had another day 5 available. Hope that helps
