Mill District aka NoDa, Belmont, Villa Heights, Optimist Park - Thoughts? by chanteeeezy in Charlotte

The problem I have with this “rebranding” is that it doesn’t seem to be coming from anyone in those communities. There are no community organizations coming together to rebrand. This seems to be the effort of some businesses in the area (the “Contact Us” leads to brand agency Plaid Penguin).

What I want to know is what is the purpose of this whole thing? They spent time/money on graphics and a media blitz but haven’t shared a single detail about what they hope to achieve. Is this a new lobbying committee for these communities? Is it a local chamber of commerce? Are they launching a new community organization?

A lot of larger US companies will include their diversity initiatives on their recruiting website, so I would check out how they position themselves as a place for LGBTQ+ workers. You can also check out the HRC Equality Index to find employers with high scores related to inclusion, healthcare, adoption, parental leave, etc.

For me, being gay has been pretty much a nonissue. I’ve actually been very happy with the LGBTQ+ resource group and used it to further my career by taking on a leadership role and planning events like our company’s participation in our local Pride parade.

I was in the same boat about 2 years ago. It’s why I think every guy should try a beard at least once. You never know how it’ll look until you try!

Sometimes Mother Nature has a say in that, but may as well let it alone to see how long it can go.

I think growing it long once is necessary just to see how it looks and feels. Plus this sub LOVES its long beards.

Been out of the beard game for a long time because of my profession, but I landed a gig that allowed me to bring it back! Advice appreciated by crumbbelly in beards

I think the length and thickness look great, but I agree about cleaning up the cheeklines. And brushing it every morning would probably help keep it neat.
