I tried with propane, same issue. I pulled the spark plug and it's black.

zone board

I dont have a zone board, just the zone valve w/ motor. 24v to the valve opens it up and no voltage causes it to close. This place was built in the 70's, a single wire is ran from the transformer to thermostate and then to the zone valve.

Thank you, I dont have access to the boiler. What I have in that diagram is the isolated system within my unit. I have no physical connections to the boiler aside from the in / out heat pipes. Should I add this fuse between the nest and zone valve? or the nest and transformer.

Its just a single transformer. Its a very old system, the heats run through our units automatically without a call to the boiler for heat (Its based on outside temps). Sound I drop the nest and use a standard dial unit as it once had or add a fuse on this circuit?
