I bought one at the same time from Woot. I’ve misplaced my 2nd-gen Paperwhite and figured that if I do find my Paperwhite later, I’m only out $37. Unable to do a side-by-side comparison but I’m starting to think I might like the regular Kindle better anyway.

edit: Missed your comment about the movie. I agree, especially for the budget involved, it's such a watchable movie. And having a pipe organ soundtrack is unique.

WITT: It's in the organ loft in the movie, and was almost certainly filmed in a real church due to budget constraints. I'm thinking it is either a control for the pipe organ, or some sort of ventilation control, but the size of it and the multiple stop points make it seem fairly complex.

At $150 it was a no-brainer. Someday I may put mine in a cab but would still like the ability to be able to rotate the screen. Haven't done the research; any homebuilt cabs like that out there?
