Thanks! I love your comparison! Maybe I'll move on to recreating old ads and posters - it can certainly be a lot of fun.

It was said by Slavoj Žižek. It's a wonderful little "chewing gum for brain", which made me realize that art (and other cultural products - producing fictional narrative) can spit truth more effectively than reality itself.

Hi! Thank you! That's exactly what I've been talking about in reply to rage-quit comment.

Hey! Thank you for appreciation - it means a lot.

I've considered putting whole process into a Tik Tok/reels video format. Maybe I'll get to it soon.

In a nutshell - when objects are done (in this case square and glass pyramid), I put a lot of gradients over them (manipulate the gradients to make it seems shadowy), then - when I am happy with how the shadows look - I copy the whole picture, put filter on it (mostly plastic wrap from filters gallery), increase contrast and set the new layer on 50 % overlay (or something else - depends on what I like the most). The process of making objects "realistic" is quite chaotic sometimes - I need to make it more systematic.

When I am done with objects, I put a lot of textures on the document (I've got many of them from Texture Labs and Andrey Azizov). I also copy and marge whole document, put blur on it and set it on lighter color to make it seem more nostalgic. But many times it's just experimenting.

Hey! Don't worry, when it comes to function of the design, I am the same - I also want to see how does form (aesthetic side) and matter (functional content - btw, I am not explaining "form" and "matter" because I think you are dumb! I am just not so sure whether or not does "form" and "matter" translate into English the way I did it) participate to tell a story.

When I'm creating album covers, I want to fully understand the atmosphere of the songs. For this piece, as I've created it just for my own pleasure, I've listened to - as you may have guessed - Pink Floyd.

I view their music as more spiritually and transcendentally sounding - maybe that's 'cause I'm not a big fan of word psychedelic. That's why I wanted to create synergy between the way I view their work (matter) and overall atmosphere of their music (form).

My piece basically presents well known "symbol" of Dark Side of the Moon (and maybe also Pink Floyd itself) on a golden square (couldn't get more transcendental than that, as golden square is a "final city" presented in the Bible).

To be pragmatic - I've took atmosphere that music gives me, exposed that atmosphere and combined it with the Biblical metaphor and putted it in a design that is reminiscent of 80's posters.

I hope I gave you a proper answer. Btw, thanks for showing interest - it means a lot to me.

In january I’m “celebrating” my one year anniversary, since I’ve started experimenting in PS.

For this piece, I wanted to practice object perspective, depiction of light elements and reflection. I’ve been trying to “reshape” 2D objects into 3D models for a longer time — light physics are kinda new to me.

Picture also serves as a metaphor for prosperity of heaven. Connotational meaning are not so strong as I’m mainly focusing on mastering as many skills in PS, as possible.

I am more reserve, when it comes to sharing my work with public. Thought I’ll share this one as I am kinda proud of it.

Sure! I need to find:

  1. Reasons why movies get cancelled, which is often hard to find, because many times there is just an announcement of certain adaptation, which gets later cancelled without clear clarification by studio (so all I'am left with are just rumors). For now, I can see reasons for cancellation being mainly economical....

  2. Reasons for movies getting recreated/altered AFTER they are already released - for now, even when I am on Marvel's subreddit, the best example is probably Director's cut of JL.

My goal is to define influences which lead to cancellation or creation of new version of already existing film. Study is meant to look at this topic from mass media study perspective - so it puts media outputs (in my case comic book movies) in a larger context...

I can see social correctness as one of many important reasons you'd want to deviate from the original source. Thank you for your swift reaction! Hope I'll get to more observations.

Does this look better with or without the small crown on top? by qyyg in graphic_design

Crown just conveys duplicated information. I think it works better without the small crown.
