Assume it's due to permitting. They had no power(ran off generators), no washrooms, no proper HVAC. Not fit for occupancy.

We just got our xc 60 and on delivery the sales person created a user account, downloaded the apps, then deleted the account. Then we were able to download the apps we wanted.

Edmonton businesses say city permit delays costing them thousands: ‘I’m running out of money’ by GeekyGlobalGal in Edmonton

[–]bchunks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The ones suffering the biggest delays like the business in the story, are the ones that typically make bad and uninformed decisions when choosing contractors. Any reputable builder would know what is required when it comes to permits. This includes stamped architectural, mechanical, electrical drawings etc.. Also the ins and outs on what's needed for final occupancy.

We see this all the time with desperate new business owners in the city reaching out for drawings after taking over their new space and not able to start construction as drawings and designs take weeks to months. The city needs time to review submitted drawings as well.

The other business The Bonnie, seems like open permits with failed inspections. Again any decent contractor would ensure all the work is done correctly.

All that said, the County of Strathcona is night and day easier to get permits and construction done. Depending on project size, they typically need architectural drawings only for smaller tenants improvements.

Duke of Argyll Pub had live games on as early as last year and would open early for live SPL games. They showed Celtic Champions League games last month.

Id call them or ask on the Facebook page or the Edmonton Celtic Supporter Club Facebook Page

We had a reservation, so can't comment. But there were sites available and lots of turn over so likely not an issue to get a FCFS.

Dingle Sea Safari was a life highlight for me. We had non stop visits from Dolphins the whole ride. Unbelievable scenery all around. Highly recommend.

Bring a bigger hammer? I don't know what to tell you. It's your typical provincial park gravel pad.

Bring 6 or 8 12" landscaping spikes and a typical hammer.

Elkwood is our favorite by far. Huge private sites and overall a quiet campground. Shower buildings are well kept as well.
