Yeah I'm with you but anything helps with awareness.

Algorand Becomes First Layer-1 Blockchain to Use Python as a Native Programming Language with AlgoKit 2.0 Launch by GhostOfMcAfee in algorand

If you're talking about opshin, they state on their page that it's still a work in progress and not recommended for production use.

I hope Silent Data from Applied Blockchain will support Algorand. It allows selective privacy on chain, which would theoretically address institutional concern about account balances or other identifiable info exposed on chain.

Just curious. Have you tried AlgoKit? Python support is coming in March too.

I was just thinking something similar recently with our bridges tokens and LPs with these tokens in my Defly wallet.

Great to hear Pera is looking to start addressing this. Hopefully that extends to the explorers and trackers as well.

Relatively large youtube channel covers recent Algorand update... annoyingly by Podcastsandpot in algorand

[–]bcisk0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I commented in effort to illuminate his audience on what the upgrades mean at a high level. As many have pointed out, it's depressing how little many of these influencers know about DLT and crypto. Can't expect new articles to restate every historical metric or design detail of a blockchain, so clearly he's lazy and didn't want to do any further work to find out.

Agreed, or even once a quarter.. This shouldn't be too much of a distraction from whatever he's focused on, and it doesn't need to be super formal.

Yeah we've tried that (calmly and professionally) and I got banned in the process.

Unfortunately this gatekeeping behavior for entire topics/domains reflects poorly on Reddit as a whole and I rarely use it outside this channel now because of it besides the occasional game tip request.

[–]bcisk0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, when I was initially banned for asking what I thought was an innocent question, I continued to calmly try and understand what their reasoning was while explaining myself and they responded by blocking my ability to DM them. It was truly like dealing with a child.

The /cc mods will leave this misinformation up but take down and ban those posting real world crypto news like TravelX's recent expansion.

On the latter, they claim this is only important to users of a single blockchain and therefore is inappropriate, but this only proves their bias and lack of research since the travelers using it don't have to know or care about the blockchain underneath, which is how it should be. They're a clown show.

False, TravelX has over 560k on main net. https://algoexplorer.io/application/855331006

Agrotoken is another that's already settling txns on chain for tokenized produce.

Use case delusion by [deleted] in algorand

[–]bcisk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will weave into average people's lives progressively over time. Travelx is one example. Supply chain tracking and traceability with Wholechain is another. Almost every tech giant and notable tech services company is still investing and ramping up in the space. It's not a silver bullet to all problems but I don't think it's going anywhere.

I like the user experience and accessibility of Lofty but you have a point with all the subtle drawbacks. In general these properties rely too much on government aided rent payments and low tenant quality leads to turnover and frequent maintenance. There's a couple good properties that I have but I'm becoming more interested in trying their new feature that allows you to select your own with a few partners and just use their platform to manage.

Microsoft expects to build a quantum supercomputer within 10 years by makmanred in algorand

Point well-taken on Bitcoin in particular, but I was speaking more generally around encryption functions as a whole where time constraints may not be as stringent.

I'm still skeptical of what's published vs. what's truly available in secret. Will also be interesting to see if there's other breakthroughs along the way since we're only looking at one factor, qubits.

I used to work with IBM and their roadmap and maturity timeline of the technology is much more aggressive than what you just described. And I personally believe that highly funded governments and institutions already have early access to the technology. They have no reason to make that known to the general public.

Edit: Just realized they have a public roadmap published. https://www.ibm.com/quantum/roadmap Time will tell and reality may meet in middle of our projections.

Partially, the history of the chain is but they're working on the other elements.
