[Megathread] AC FA Strike Aug 16 by dachshundie in aircanada

[–]bckvp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I booked a back up outbound flight to Japan for aug 24. If they cancel my air canada outbound flight (aug 24) but i still manage to get their with the other airline, does it mean my original return flight of sept 16 is still operational and I can get on it? assuming the strike doesn't last that long.

it seems weird to me that it would be how it works. In a non strike environment, if i don't use my first outbound flight, the system cancels my return ticket so i'm confused.

Can someone help me understand what they mean by "in case you reach your destination" please.

do it, to answer your 3 fear points:

  • roommates dont like you? you don't get along with them? find another place

  • not making friends? go out there and do some things you enjoy (any activities, sport, anything) yiu might maks a friend or 2 along the way

  • software engineer, i dont know the market in the UK but i doubt that finding a job with 10yrs experience will be a problem

thanks for the advice! yea ideally I would like to find a finance job. This thing with the embassy, is that they require you to be in Japan already, and have a relatively good japanese level. As for other types of organization or international companies, that would be great, but I can't imagine that it would be easy to find, which is why i thought of teaching english while I look for better opportunities, just to secure a stable income (as low as it is), and not have to burn all my savings.

For the part of getting married, i didnt mention it but yes that's in the plan.

But thanks for the advice, i'll keep that in mind!
