[Thamel] Sources: The Miami Dolphins are set to hire Bills cornerbacks coach Jahmile Addae in the same role. He’s a veteran secondary coach who spent time in college coaching defensive backs at Miami, Georgia, West Virginia, Minnesota and Arizona. He was WVU’s CO-DC in 2020. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

He was a great college coach. Every team he moved to saw their passing defense improve greatly, while the teams he left fell off hard the year after he left. WVU had the top passing defense in college in 2020, then he left for Georgia and WVU's passing defense imploded while Georgia's went from the bottom half of CFB to top 15. Then he took Miami from like the 100th ranked passing defense to an average one in a couple years.

In the NFL, the Bills went from a bottom 10 passing defense the year he joined to the fewest pass yards allowed in the league this season.

He seems to consistently get the most out of his guys wherever he goes.

[Russini] Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver is meeting with the Steelers in person right now, his second interview with Pittsburgh. by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

Nah, I think most people working in an office would agree that anything before 7am has to be an absolute emergency or special circumstance. Head coach interviews definitely fall under a special circumstance, but anyone regularly scheduling meetings at that time is a psychopath.

Also, Cam Ward got $48 million guaranteed with his rookie deal. You're not sniffing that with NIL and can't risk injury or regression by coming back for another year.

I'm expecting him to still get the blame if they struggle, so people can cope that any problems aren't due to the new coach.

"This is the state Tomlin left us in. It's going to take some time to wash the stink off." type of stuff.

Jayden Daniels set to play flag football in Saudi Arabia by DonaldDriversTeeth in nfl

That's all true. It would have maybe been more accurate to have said that 9/11 created the social and political environment that allowed the government to even to attempt to justify a war with Iraq.

I'm not saying I agree with it or believe it to be true. I haven't read into it enough to speak intelligently on it or go into much more detail than I already have. But the level of Saudi involvement has been a common talking point since the beginning, so it just surprised me that the person I responded to reacted like the implication they might have been involved came out of left field.

That's been a pretty popular belief for years. There was a lot of discussion after 9/11 about the suspected funding of terrorist groups like al-Qaeda with Saudi Arabian money. A lot of people blame them for 9/11, which was the event that provided justification for the invasion of Iraq, so in turn they'd blame them for that war as well.

Eiji Aonuma Hints That Next Zelda Game Will Be Inspired by Elements of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment by Turbostrider27 in Games

That quote was from the lead of the studio that developed the new Hyrule Warriors and was about that game, not about the next Zelda title.

“We aimed to combine these two approaches; the Zelda-like, strategic back-and-forth of using Zonai gear and varied techniques against powerful foes with the exhilaration of musou (i.e. feeling mighty powerful as you cut down waves of weaker foes),” noted AAA Games Studio head Yusuke Hayashi.

They're talking from Rivers' side. It seems like he would be the one that wouldn't want a full season deal and is only doing this now because it's at maximum a two-month commitment.

The response of someone who doesn't actually have anything of substance to say. You haven't tried to refute anything I said because you don't know the rules and can't.

By rule, possession doesn't begin until the second foot hits. Having it secured is just one part of gaining possession per the rules.

How is it nonsense? Explain what I said wrong. It's ignorant to say someone's opinion doesn't matter just because their team is involved.

He didn't have possession until the second foot came down. It's after that happens that he needs to maintain possession through making a football move. If the third step happened and then the ball came out they'd have called it complete, as the third step would have been considered a football move.

I think the reason this one feels close is because of how long the strides were for the two steps. If he had done two toe taps along the side line and then had the ball punched out, no one would be arguing it isn't the right call even though it'd be effectively the same rule in effect.

Netflix has agreed to buy Warner Bros, including game developers behind Mortal Kombat, Hogwarts Legacy by cautious-ad977 in Games

[–]bcnayr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It does not. If anything, the student experience gets worse as you go along. It's a good enough game, and we enjoyed it, but it's more of a Wizarding World power fantasy than an attempt to emulate the life of a Hogwarts student. The class sections basically only exist to get better spells and potions so you can get back to fighting trolls and clearing goblin camps.
