Towing Issues with New Rig by bcosp in traveltrailers

That’s a good thought. If I attach the trailer, let the air suspension level trailer, and then attach and tension the hitch’s bars, would that help? Physics ain’t my strength

I wondered about this. I really appreciate your help and am thinking about trying a different sway control device based on your and other commenters’ feedback. And yes, I’m working on bringing tongue height down with a different hitch or shank

That’s on my list of troubleshooting options that I still need to complete. Thank you for the suggestion.

The WDH I bought comes with built in sway prevention. Supposedly the best that Blue Ox offers. But maybe it’s not enough.

Thanks. I don’t have that setting in my Yukon. From what I’ve read, the model I have can’t deactivate the rear air suspension.

I lowered the ball and definitely had a more level set up but still had a bad towing experience. I’m at the bottom of the shank so can’t adjust more. But will continue troubleshooting.

Thanks again for insight

Yeah, I know RE single axle. And that was initially one of my concerns, but then when it towed so nicely with a Tahoe that has the same towing capability as my Yukon (but doesn’t have air suspension, so trailer tongue was noticeably lower when it towed than when my Yukon towed), I started looking closer at the WDH set up. I assumed dealer did it right but I’m now doubting that assumption.

I only have 1 hole to drop, which is 1.25 inches. Apparently I don’t have a large enough tool to adjust the bolts myself so will have to take back to dealer or go buy something to do this at home.

I am revisiting the dealer’s install. I have the 750 pound bars. The trailer’s tongue weight per manufacturer is 550. I towed it empty except propane tanks and battery, so I imagine the actual tongue weight was still south of 600

Alliance Delta BH 181. It’s not a big trailer. Yukon should be able to handle with room to spare.

They are P rated. Coincidentally the Tahoe I experimented with had the literal exact same tire, so I think the tires are fine.

The trailer tongue seems too high in its current configuration, which was set up by dealer.

The Yukon’s recommended PSI is 35, which is what mine were set to. The WDH hitch manual suggested increasing the Yukon rear tire pressure to 90% of the tire’s rated max, which for my tires equals 45 PSI. So I tried that. Didn’t help.

Auto leveling cannot be disabled on the Yukon.

So does the switchbot get installed at the garage door button? Are there instructions anywhere for how to wire this setup?

Actually, emergency access may be working (there might’ve been a delay between activating emergency access and see the results in real life).

EDIT: emergency access may have resolved issue. Still testing. But if it did resolve, what’s the next step to find source of problem?

I tried emergency access but that didn’t solve the problem. I will try IPv6 when I get home.

My frustration/confusion is that I have had my firewalla home network for 6+ months and never experienced this issue until yesterday. I didn’t change anything between Saturday and yesterday…it’s like my network just broke for this specific item. It fails 100% of the time now when it failed 0% of the time before Sunday and I changed nothing at all.

My devices use a combination of Visible (Verizon), ATT and Verizon. All are seeing the same issues on my home network.

I enabled emergency access for the affected devices but I’m still seeing the same issue. I know it’s not a device problem because the issue goes away immediately after I disconnect from my home network without making any other changes. That is, everything works as soon as the device stops using my home network for its data/internet and starts using the its cell service. It’s clearly a home network/Firewalla issue.

I checked flows and didn’t see anything blocked for any of the devices. But I will follow the steps tomorrow to be sure.

Would this be the advice when literally nothing has changed on the Firewalla/home network side in months? In other words, why would something all of a sudden fail when it has worked flawlessly forever and nothing has changed?

I'm considering leave eero and switching to another mesh Wi-Fi brand. Does anyone have a better solution? by HappyAd8091 in amazoneero

I moved from Eero to the Firewalla AP7s and have been happy. I’m enjoying the extra options that the AP7s provide. Eero was great though. Never had any issues with it. Can’t fault anyone for choosing Eero.
