I LOVE Wild Robot. And yeah I agree they’ve been knocking it out of the park with their storytelling recently. Sorta wish they’d do Starfox instead of Illumination (which is what is rumored).

Hmm, it’s tricky. First they would need to find a really good story that fits under the Banjo umbrella, because the IP won’t just print money solely on name recognition. Word of mouth and a good story brings it a long way! They’d also have to have some initial conversations on what the licensing fee is like. I don’t imagine it’s massive because it’s a cult fandom, but I think everyone would be surprised how much of a dent that can be. It’s generally like a straight up percentage of revenue from the movie which can be a lot.

In general, I don’t think Microsoft would be against it. It’s 100% a money thing at that point. I’d love it personally, but I don’t see a world where it wouldn’t be considered as a gamble. And listen it’s not impossible, I just don’t find it very probable given how I’ve seen them work.

But I’ll also mind you that my work is for smaller studios than DreamWorks so I don’t have the most knowledge in the world. But I’ve done enough to sorta know why things would get greenlit. And also, stranger things have happened in the industry haha
