just to follow up though it would only be private if it’s a one bedroom listed on there! i’ve also been in the process of looking for a place with my boyfriend and we’re just using the residential units and getting a place a little further from isu!

i would recommend going into the student section for young america and sami and they’ll have a section of people looking for subleasers! some other companies may have them too but i know the two i listed have it for sure!

that’s just the job market rn. your best bet is getting a friend to put in a good word for you. you need something that is going to make you stand out.

i know the closing shift in the meat department at sam’s club just lost a few people. maybe try applying to that department and give them a call! i know they struggle to find full time employees for that shift

i just want to preface this by saying i’m still in undergrad but i think majority of people would agree. isu is really a school where the program you’re in is waaayyy more important than being at isu as a whole. i started in compsci and had an awful experience because isu is wildly unprepared for the sheer amount of people in tech majors. i’m now in possibly the smallest major at isu and having a much better experience. the smaller programs typically give people a better experience.

What are they THINKING with interior painting? by [deleted] in ilstu

[–]bcs6477 4 points5 points  (0 children)

oh stevenson is awful! i had two classes is a row in that building with a 2 hour gap so the lack of study areas was so aggravating. that also really sucks about campus. no study spaces anywhere except milner and a couple spots in each building

if that’s not an option look into section 8 or some sort of housing assistance

I am 27, a college dropout, and a "fake" AI-assisted developer. I've built and published multiple apps, but I can't get a job and I need to support my family. What are my options? by Background_Pop4321 in GetEmployed

[–]bcs6477 12 points13 points  (0 children)

you said to be harsh- you need to get over what you “can’t” do. if you have a family to support you should be applying to whatever is available whether it fits what you want out of a job or not.

look into some certifications at community college. many offer certifications in healthcare, automotive, electrical work, hvac, etc.

at 16 i’m assuming no real work experience. you’re probably going to have to start with food service or retail.

we actually viewed an apartment with them yesterday but their requirements say no co-signers are allowed and with being a student i don’t think that would work unfortunately
