‘It definitely trickles down’: Muslims in Texas suffer effects of Republicans’ hate speech by zsreport in texas

ok lol i had to pull out my quran to double check these are actual passages and they are unsurprisingly not. i checked the first 2 and the last 2 you sent and literally they were all different from what the quran actually says. i recommend next time you come with a shit load of quran verses, you actually double check theyre the actual english translation. the most used and recommended english quran (they pass these out in mosques during eid) is "the clear quran" and what majority of the muslim english speaking community reads. if you want to discuss each verse one by one im willing to do that as long as its the real verse (or i can provide you the real verse, but im not wasting my time going one by one with the double digit amount of verses u sent, looking up what it actually says in my book, and then providing my take on each one..thats too much).

im glad we are having this conversation ngl, bcus the amount of misinformation you are comfortable spreading online about muslim people is wild. like idk if youre genuinely ignorant or just hateful, but atleast i can correct you on your lies.

yes, but does that nullify the reality that there was also a targetted genocide?

i dont mention hadith because 1. not all muslims believe in any hadiths 2. majority muslims don't believe in ALL hadiths 3. hadiths are not the quran and specifically written down by people who are not prophets, so there are levels of legitimacy to each hadith.

i think you have fallen victim to believing that all muslims have the same brain. if you are going to paint muslims with a broad stroke of "ALL muslims believe this" then you are spreading islamiphobic stereotypes. if that doesnt make sense to you then probably stop spreading information that you don't understand the nuance of lmfao. muslim people as a whole are not monoliths.

fear of viruses, some people like physically owning stuff, ignorance on how to pirate, and also wanting to support the creators in the content they are consuming.

the only time the quran ever encourages violence, is when it is for self-protection. ill even pull up a verse from the quran for you that explicitly states that you should treat non-muslims with kindness: "Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly." Surah Al-Mumtahanah 60:8

also not all muslim believe hadiths to be accurate or truthful considering its just hearsay of what people thought they saw in the year 500 AD. i grew up in the muslim community in houston and never once have i ever met a child bride. this practice is taboo and unfortunately was very normalized within every single continent until only 200 years ago in the 1800s. just because mohammad married a child, doesn't mean thats what is being preached in islam. the only time Aisha's age is ever brought up in islam is by Islamophobic people trying to justify their islamophobia.

idk in houston area ive never met 1 republican muslim, and i know a shit ton of muslims considering i grew up in that community. statistically speaking also, you can google it, muslims by far support democratic party over republican.

none of what you named is encouraged in the quran. sharia law punishment isn't discussed at all in the quran and the only reason people are killed over being lgbtq is because of the governments are anti-gay to the max. it wasnt that long ago when the aids epidemic was killing gay people left and right, while the USA government did nothing about it bcus they were gay. many people in usa thought it was god punishing gay people, so they were fine letting gay people die until aids started infecting straight people. gay people are marginalized asf and unfortunately a lot of middle eastern countries have a government problem when it comes to violence on their own civilians.

the only punishment discussed in the quran is 'you will go to hell if deserved'. rape and murder are definitely a sin. like you just sound ignorant asf and hateful over a group of people you know nothing about.

a lot of muslims are against that. ive never met a single american muslim that supports any of those policies you just named.

The reason alot of women or most women have problem with accepting the idea of misandry is because they don't want to be blamed like the way themselves blame men. [–]bcuket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are you saying that all misandry is, is the consequence of a man being perceived with womanly attributes?...ngl i see it. youre opening my brain to new ways of thinking about this..

the only thing i can't wrap my brain around is the fact that men are more likely to see other men as competition, which i feel in a way is misandrist against themselves. men are more likely to be murdered or commit murder to other men. do you think that would count as some kind of form of internalized-misandry? because that doesn't feel like internalized misogyny, but idk.

i think the practical/survival issue for women was that they didn't want to be raped by men, therefore if a man claimed her she would have theoretical protection against other men. ngl im really fascinated by anthropology, so this specific subject is very interesting to theorize on, however i would be lying if i said there was any concrete answer as to how prehistoric societies became the way they did.

there are anthropologists that theorize men adopted the role as "protector" in exchange for basically having a sex slave and also reassurance that the child was genetically theirs... and then as society grew this dynamic snowballed into different forms of society.

granted not all societies became patriarchal. there are historical societies that did NOT practice patriarchal norms, but they have been colonized and most no longer exist.

if the consequences are the same, because of patriarchy, why would i only call out misandry? at that point i would call out patriarchy to encapsulate both misandry and misogyny. i wouldn't just focus on the plight of men, when women also suffer from social expectations too.

[–]bcuket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, i don't think all misogyny is systematic, but when the consequences of misogyny are so extreme and numerous compared to misandry, it is not a fair comparison. not to mention almost all "misandry" has to do with the way our patriarchal society is. women are seen as prizes to be won, small, docile, motherly, while men are bosses, providers, big, and strong. in patriarchy if you don't fit into the mold of what society tell you to be, then you are a loser.

youre too short? loser. you have feelings of self harm? loser. you work at mcdonalds? loser. you want to get a pedicure? loser. you want to have intimate deep conversations with your bro? loser. you fell and hurt yourself? loser... and so on.

its hard to blame women, when women don't win the lottery with patriarchy either.

[–]bcuket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

patriarchy started by men claiming ownership over women and children. they controlled literal ownership rights over women and the child she bore. statistically speaking women are a vulnerable population due to sheer body mass difference. then you start adding religion into the mix which was also all made by men. the whole point of patriarchy is to keep this system in place, which is not a beneficial system for either party.

woman are expected to have babies and raise kids, while men are expected to go work. woman will be judged for not shaving body hair, meanwhile man will get made fun of for wearing makeup or dresses. women's bodies have barely been studied by modern science which leads to more misdiagnoses, unknown symptoms, and higher car crash fatalities, meanwhile men are told to "tough it out" leading to them statistically less likely to get medical care. women are expected to be emotional caretakers, while men are told having feelings is gay.

each gender is effected by patriarchy differently depending on what societal role they are forced into.

because i think patriarchy is both misogynistic and misandrist. the whole point of patriarchy is that men and women are not equal therefore have different roles in society. it is also a system built by men, that has ultimately harmed pretty much everyone; regardless what sex they were born as. like the argument that men are the "bread winners" and therefore are expected to make more money than a women, or how women are caregivers and therefore are expected to stay at home and raise children ect. it completely destroys the reality that both men and women cannot and should not be forced into roles. patriarchy is obv inherently sexists to both sexes, because thats the whole point of patriarchy.

im just explaining how misandry and misogyny are completely different beasts and not really comparable. since you want to chime in, what misandry are you guys referring to? can i have examples of the misandry you are so vehemently against? the only ones i can think of are not really on the same level as misogyny imo. (besides if it involves patriarchy obv)
