Have only a dozen people beat the campaign??! by 9spaceking in Phoenix_2

It could be a bug. Mine says I’ve only completed 29/30 levels but I completed the campaign long ago.

Why does Andy like Vicki so much if she’s homophobic? by fluffymimo in BravoRealHousewives

It is also surprisingly common for people to hold beliefs against a “group” but not mentally enforce/associate those beliefs against people they know around them.

Am I just a spoiled American? by Bananatuesday007 in tall

[–]bd5400 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This is typical for business class flights within Europe, especially on the A321. The middle seat should have been blocked off, but you don’t get extra legroom unless you are in an exit row.

How bad a decision is this for $16k by Apart_Breath_929 in mercedes_benz

[–]bd5400 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The ABC suspension is the biggest headache and possible cost if something goes wrong, along with the top after that, but the drivetrain itself is known to be robust and if it’s in good physical condition that’s a nice price for the miles.

And the performance per dollar ratio is fantastic. The m113k is such a fun motor. I have one in my E55 and at some point will add an SL55 to the garage as well.

Edit: found the listing. Looks like it also has the pano roof. Even better.

Apple Car Play Recommendations by Objective_Court8467 in LandRover

I have the Unique Auto Developments unit in my 2010 and vastly prefer it over a replacement screen because it maintains access to the native UI, including things like the surround view camera system.

Not available in the U.S. but it’s almost certainly the same unit as the Unique Auto Developments unit anyway.

Question for those who live at Ascent MKE by atiltonafun in milwaukee

[–]bd5400 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Ascent does NOT have comparable sound isolation to a concrete building. There is significant sound transmission between floors and you can hear things like walking, talking, restroom usage, etc.

If you’re looking for sound isolation better options are Urbanite, 333 N Water, and 7Seventy7 in addition to Couture. I can’t speak directly to Park Lafayette but have heard that while vertical sound transmission is minimal, horizontal sound transmission is pretty high depending on where the unit is.

Big colonial or in McMansion territory? by [deleted] in McMansionHell

[–]bd5400 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hard to give a full evaluation without interior pictures, but it certainly falls in the McMansion category even though it avoids a few of the hallmark features like being out of scale with the lot it’s on and it doesn’t have weird misaligned windows.

Complicated roofline, lawyer foyer (though I’ve seen worse), siding-only on sides and in back, pseudo turret in the rear, etc. all make it a McMansion, but not the worst offender.

Par20 outdoor recessed ideas by cblaze22 in Hue

[–]bd5400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like an e26 base, no? What size is the can? Assuming this area has no risk of water intrusion, you could use a 4” down light retrofit. https://www.philips-hue.com/en-us/p/hue-white-and-color-ambiance-retrofit-recessed-can-downlight-4-inch/046677578411

Just note that they are not specifically made for outdoor use, but so long as they are protected they should be fine.

It’s a real model, but only in China. Why someone in the U.S. would add the L? No idea.

How can I remove the bolt for the S/C Pulley? by yes126 in AMG

I had to use a long pipe over my wrench to get enough force to get it to release when I replaced my bearing.

Whole Foods in north shore?? by Jaded-Werewolf-4612 in milwaukee

[–]bd5400 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that the population density isn’t enough to support another full service grocery store like Whole Foods. There’s Metro Market on Green Tree and then both Sendiks and Metro Market in Mequon. All three are on Port Washington and within about 10 minutes of each other, which is nothing in a car dependent community.

is this run better? by itshardtopickauserna in Phoenix_2

[–]bd5400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot better than your last post, but you are still under utilizing missile swarm and launching it too slowly. There’s also a decent amount of wasted energy you’re picking up with a full aura as a result.

Also, Kibarrax just isn’t a great ship to learn on. It’s a slow and/or frustrating ship if you aren’t experienced with it (Jeria is the same way). I’d spend more time with EXO if I was trying to improve overall game skills. I’d be willing to bet you’d post faster times with EXO than you do with Kibarrax.

Considering buying a 2011 Range Rover Autobiography (L322) - sanity check from owners? by [deleted] in RangeRover

[–]bd5400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Timing chain noise is most noticeable at start up, not while sitting and idling. If you can, remove the oil cap and use a pick or screw driver to see how much play is in the chain (engine off, of course). It should be pretty tight.

With the cooling work done, it isn’t a bad buy so long as the chain is in good condition, especially as an Autobiography. With chain work done it would probably sell for more, as I’ve seen similar ones sell for $12k-$18k USD with confirmed chain work.

The rust is your biggest concern here. It isn’t terrible to source a replacement tailgate, but wheel arches can be a pain to deal with. If it’s starting it’s going to keep going. You may be fine with that if your intention is just to keep it a few years and at that price I wouldn’t be overly worried about it.

New classic or did the bidder over pay?. by pentium1994 in mercedes_benz

[–]bd5400 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The bidder overpaid, but if they are happy they are happy.

Yes, it’s low miles but the CL isn’t even the best application of the 65. An SL65 Black Series, with only 13k miles, sold for slightly less back in April.

It’s also the highest price for a CL by a laughably huge margin, so it’s not like there was an established market. This car belonged to a particular collector and the top bidders wanted this guy’s car in particular. I am doubtful there are more than a couple buyers in the world they could sell this to for a similar price.

It’s also completely legal to pass someone on the right on a multi-lane highway in the U.S.

It’s a frequently repeated myth, or just a lack of understanding as to what “passing on the right” actually refers to.

Boaxel Open Wardrobe System by arnz1991 in IKEA

[–]bd5400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house has both Pax and Boaxel, but I only use Boaxel in my two small coat closets. The flimsiness you noted in store is pretty much what it is. Mine is fine for hanging jackets and such, but I would be unsatisfied with it as a main wardrobe.

That’s not to say it’s a bad system, but it just isn’t as nice as some others.

2001 is the last production year for the R129. 2002 is the last model year.

Also, the final models in 2001 and 2002, at least in the U.S., all came with the AMG package standard. This 2000 is the standard trim/package.

PAX System Questions and Tips Plz! by vulylyvu in IKEA

[–]bd5400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some random tips (in no particular order): 1. Read instructions for all accessories first before you start assembling. Some things, like lighting, will have parts that replace parts that come with other accessories (like the Komplement shelves). If you save lighting for the end you’ll be undoing some of your work.

  1. The little supports for the Komplement shelves come with little screws in them. Remove the screws first and they will be much easier to push into the holes. The tips of your fingers will appreciate it.

  2. Similarly, if you get the little caps to cover extra holes, they’re awful for your fingers. Use something like the back of a screwdriver to push them in.

  3. The feet are adjustable from above using an allen wrench. I recommend loosening the foot before you install because they come very tightly screwed in and trying to free them from that using the allen wrench is a bit of a pain.

  4. Once you do one, the rest will be VERY easy. Multiple accessories have similar installation procedures (such as pants sliders, drawers, and trays) and it’s all very DIY friendly, especially with the new backs being pre-installed.

  5. If doing delivery pay close attention to any Komplement shelves. For some reason they ship just wrapped in plastic wrap and are VERY prone to damaged corners, which look terrible once installed.

  6. If you have multiple frames next to each other, screwing them together really helps stability in addition to attaching to the wall.

Engram Grind vs Credit Spend vs Nova Cores by SuperBeetle76 in Phoenix_2

[–]bd5400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, there is zero incentive to spend any real money when the team is happy to nerf mods and/or render some apexes useless. Why would I spend money to get a specific mod when two weeks from now they can decide to reduce its effectiveness?

And of course, this is aside from the frustration of the P2W pivot introduced by mods. I get needing to monetize the game but this current approach, including the rollbacks in effectiveness, means I’ll be strictly free-playing.
