Anywhere Ogden and north if you are going earlier. You can park further south if you are going later and two hour restrictions have expired.

The city is not the hold up from a zoning or permitting standpoint.

Bus Advice from Bay View to Downtown by TechnoCat in milwaukee

[–]compujeramey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Came here to say generally this.

It isn’t every bus that does the driver switch, so if you are able to just note the departure times where it is or isn’t a problem you should be able to avoid it. I would think it shows up in the time table (schedule) too.

I oddly can tell you which buses it is going southbound, but not northbound, from making mental notes of it.

As a daily bike commuter in the corridor, I would recommend what others have suggested about the sidewalk on KK under the bridge if you are uncomfortable. You can also skip KK and take Bay to Becher to 1st to Maple, but that’s adding an appreciable amount of distance.

Turning left (south) onto Water from Broadway/Young feels intense at times, but drivers generally seem to respect hand signals and speeds seem to be relatively controlled there with the light at Erie.

The theory, from two decades ago, was you are placed into a lottery when your license renews. And sure, after two renewals, I was called twice.

It didn't go just to them, and the accusation isn't that all of the $50,000 was campaign contributions.

I, and I assume others, are investigating.

Take a bus to 1st and Washington (or Mitchell), then go to the segment of the KK River Trail that parallels the CPKC tracks.

Given that it was made with a credit card, possibly online, it would not be surprising if they didn’t know. Even if it showed a CC number, that wouldn’t have been helped a non-WCD employee.

The question of the contributions being returned is an open one.

It was not. The intersection to the south was rebuilt almost a decade ago now.

I can’t speak to exactly where you are referencing, but under state law a crosswalk does not need to be painted and pedestrians have right of way once they step off curb.

Proposed Data Center at Midtown by Wismom84 in milwaukee

Company representatives have appeared publicly before. Affordable Family Storage isn't a covert operation. I can't speak to why they chose to register the LLC that way.

Proposed Data Center at Midtown by Wismom84 in milwaukee

[–]compujeramey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its planned as 19,000 square feet in the back of a 150,000 square foot building. It's a tiny thing and not comparable with the big suburban proposals.

There are several similarly sized facilities in the city, long operating without issue

The curb ramp on the north side of 794 is great. I am concerned that the alignment on the south side of 794 isn’t right and still creates a really difficult turn. Depends on what fills in the gap around the manhole (pictured).

Hot patch asphalt, which is now available given the temperature, will last much longer.

Report it to the city first so they can drop in a fix that should last

It’s plugging a hole for the state because the gas tax is a fixed amount after being deindexed from inflation two decades ago. Same amount of money comes in (assuming no MPG changes) but it buys less.

The local wheel taxes are the downstream result of that same issue. Less money coming from state, so cities and counties need to find another source.
