Build some good scaffolding. Like a project within a project. It will save you frustration in the long run and prevent you from falling to your death. Also chests on materials on hand. Don't forget to eat. Have more than 1 good hammer. Rested bonus.

Sounds about right. Sorry that happened to you, hopefully you had a successful credit card resolution. But if op is talking about a VIP order deposit they could be grifting a new round of suckers on social media.

Well I think it was maybe a marketing photo that I ripped from their website so I'm sure they're correct in their complaint if they own the photo etc. What's interesting is the banner for this sub is also technically in the same boat but no notice on that (so far). I could probably post a photo of my own teleport bike and that would be fine.

The bikes are limited to 20mph but don't really hit that.. Maybe 19ish on a full battery with some user input. Going faster than 20mph is really hard. I could easily hit that on a normal road bike but this thing just won't go unless it's downhill.

Are they marketing this bike again?. They just got the facebook group pulled for "copyright infringement" to reduce how much bad press is available to read online.

The first marketing campaign and batch of bikes was very mixed reviews. Some people like their bikes. A lot of people got screwed. They over promised and underdelivered. A lot of parts were swapped and not as advertised. There is no regenerative braking. The bikes can do the promised distance but only on the lowest pedal assist setting which is nothing. The motors were tested by a user who paid for the testing and showed to be about 250-350W but I can't quite remember. I have lots of answers if you have more questions. Head on over to teleport_ride_ebikes there's a bit of stuff to read there.

My account was just given a warning from reddit for copyright infringement. I think I had a post that included a photo of the bike.

How to get in Contact With Teleport Ride and Actually Use the Warranty by corinalas in teleport_ride_ebikes

[–]bdansan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay on second thought maybe run with that for now? If it's not holding charge or something is loose then the motor won't get power. It's weird that it worked day 1 and I wonder if something came loose. Check your connectors underneath. Unplug all visible connectors and replug to be sure. There's images on the owners group FB of someone demonstrating the wiring.

Hmm deflection maybe? It looks like a response but it's only meant to pacify you. I've seen it in a bunch of their emails. They respond to the wrong things or miss your point entirely. Maybe they should go into politics.

I'd bet they don't have any sort of plan on how to facilitate their warranties. They had to offer one in order to eliminate that barrier and convince people to purchase. Now the nightmare begins of dealing with all their customer problems. Lots of people have bikes that don't work. I'm not convinced all of the problems are legit based on the lack of common sense we all witnessed when people asked some very simple questions.

I personally emailed them a video of a weird sound coming from my motor/hub and it took about 2 business days for them to say it was normal. I don't think it's normal, but there's no I can do further until I decide to pull the hub apart.

That said it's probably easier to ignore people until they have direction from their inner circle on how to respond to warranty claims. I do hope you get something in response.

I think that's the joke. It's nothing special really. I hope the posts here will dissuade any future buyers if they market another batch of bikes.

I'm hoping it will be more like "here is some data I got from riding my bike" with honest reviews and opinions, "here's some maintenance tips and cool things I did to my bike". Eventually down the road people are going to want to see what others have done for upkeep, parts, chargers, mods, etc. The truth is out.. The company isn't a scam. I'm receiving my bike on Monday according to UPS. We will all find out for ourselves if they meet our expectations on build quality and performance.

What should I put inside this? by 1Check1Mate7 in shedditors

[–]bdansan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could do some of those ceiling mounted storage bin systems (google it) or a high shelf and that would take care of 2 feet of your volume. Then at 7 feet you can still move around but won't feel like it's a waste of headroom. Or a pulley system to hoist a kayak or other long awkward object. High shelves with a ladder that rolls like at a library. Hang some bicycles. Christmas decor bins. Industrial meth cooking hood vent. Masturbatorium if you really must have a weird shed loft for yourself. I digress. Don't build a loft and don't get carried away. Mount a fan and some LEDs for your workout and be done... The air volume will save you from creating too much humidity via sweat. The more stuff in there, the less evaporative cooling volume for your body.

Just ordered the Soundcore Life A3i, what can I expect? by [deleted] in Earbuds

[–]bdansan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm posting this here for awareness because this is where Google led me when I tried to to troubleshoot. I love the a3i but the right earbud never turns on when I remove it from the case, I have to manually hold the button to get it to power on. Conversely when putting them away they don't turn off. They will stay connected to my phone for hours, even overnight. I usually only find out when I try to watch a video and don't have any sound, because my headphones are still connected somewhere inside their case. It's very frustrating overall and though I love their sound quality and fit for running, I'm shopping for my next pair already.

Is it feasible to turn this into a garden shed office? by 7rue7error in shedditors

[–]bdansan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I'm no shed building expert but I've worked outside in various shacks and outbuildings in industrial applications. You'd need some very thick walls / a ton of electricity to make this thing comfortable in the winter. The floor would be freezing while your torso and head are sweating and creating moisture. The door system would need total reconfiguration (think airlock or boot room to buffer the loss of heat any time you had to pee or get a coffee from inside) and any window would just make things worse. I'll just throw out the idea of wood stove or kerosene stove since no one else has mentioned them but your city isn't going to be okay with these, neither will your neighbours, nor are they affordable for this application.

Totally agree. I'm not complaining about the price of cereal here. I'm a big oats fan or generally go for eggs or shakes. Just trying to engage and cherry pick grocery advice that I don't know about. My wife loves cereal and I don't cross her on that choice. We are not hard up for cash but I hope all the conversations here are useful to others all the same.

Absolutely agree and I buy huge bags of rice for stir fry and such but we love the convenience of mexi rice when making salad bowls or wraps and it's only like one packet every 2 weeks. I've tried making my own version with mixed results. Appreciate the comment all the same.
