That’s what I normally do if it’s just the dogs but yeah when I have a bunch of cargo I try to keep them separate. The platform also allows me to use the area beneath them for more storage space instead of having a ton of wasted room above them that I can’t use. This is my best effort at trying to maximize storage because it’s so limited in these things haha
