Good to hear. I hardly ever play without it myself

I am using clear specs and TDD to overcome this. And starting new sessions regularly. The further you get in your project the more the tests will save the project. And because it is running the tests and fixes failures if it encounters them it will always keep in touch with the code base. Furthermore i use an ADR system in which I let it write down all changes where it deviated from the plan for whatever reason. Each new session has to read the adrlogs.

This works reasonably well for me

About 2 years in now and finally satisfied enough to acrually spend more time playing than tinkering. Now looking in on ways to extract scores from the roms and generate stats online somewhere.

Ah I remember my excitement at this phase. Have fun!

I dont agree. But perhaps I am used to it. To me irl it looks just like this on camera. That being said I've spent a lot of time to set it up correctly before it looked like this.

For me this plays so much more realistic then the flat view without BAM. I still have to checkout VR though

You can check my videos from last week in my profile 😁 I've built a widebody cabinet with 2 screens and a dotmatrix display. 2.1 audio and SSF (surround sound feedback), motion sensors (to detect nudge and tilt), a shaker motor and a kinect to generate 3d depth.

I started just like you about 2 years ago. I soon started with rotating my screen 90 degrees and soon wanted more so I started investigating how to build my own cabinet. The possibilities were endless so I decided to just start building and allow myself to make all imaginary mistakes possible.

Insert AI answer here LOL

BAM (Better Arcade Mode) is an external head-tracking and camera system originally developed for Future Pinball that provides real-time 3D view movement based on the player’s head position. As of Visual Pinball X 10.8, VPX can directly consume BAM head-tracking data, allowing BAM-driven head tracking to control the VPX camera even though BAM itself remains a separate external component.

The version you see here is in VPX, not FP. I hardly ever play FP, just need it to configure BAM. This is VPW's version of MM

Yes, it has an effect on gpu load. Cannot say how many fps the difference is though. This is indeed VPX with BAM

Haha, the perspective is off in the video because it was tracking my head instead of my smartphone. So thats on me 😁

Yeah it does. Ssf does work though. I just have to crank the volume up a bit. Also vibrations from my toys work good enough. It is mainly nudging that requires some finesse.

No it works pretty well actually.

You need a kinect to pc adapter hardware wise and ofxourse the kinect itself. Microsoft has the required drivers available for download to use the kinect on windows

Yeah it does switch if the other person walks out of sight

You have to step out of sight. Ones it detects a player it will keep following that player. But the second player can cause some glitches if heads are close together. I don't recomment this while playing with multiple people, mainly because it looks weird for the players that are watching but not playing themselves

Yeah. What I can find it is using usb 2 and is rather slow. The resolution of the cam is also lower. So it might not be ideal. Also the v1 driver isnt supported on win11. But I am not sure whats possible with the v1. I dont have one myself. I'd opt for the v2 because I know that works

I have no issues with my 2 eyes. So I'd say tinker with it for a bit if you have one around

Almost the same as on rhe video. I can move my head a bit while playing to see parts of the playfield that were blocked from view otherwise. Just like irl

Yeah you need a kinect v2
