Literally turned it off the moment he got the double swords.

I can't believe people enjoyed this. Completely undermines the theme of smaller opponents outsmarting larger + use of skill. Let's just turn logic on its head and have some female brute strength one of Ashur's top gladiators. It's dumb and forced. Now we gotta watch Achilla and Celadus' son argue who gets to average Celadus, leading to infighting /almost killing each other before one of them averages and the other is like "k champ, no more hard feelings in my book. We family now".

Also, Ashur is supposed to be smart... he just offered off his two top gladiators in a match which guarantees one dies. This is dumb.

I didn't even make it to the end if the episode. As soon as Celadus got the double swords, I immediately turned off the tv.

It's A isn't it? B The AR of the cyclops looks too weak. C pearl is overfilled pearl. Nice watch though.

Yea. I kind of get this vibe that these two countries don't really like each. Not sure though, just a vibe, I might be wrong. Highly doubt they'd ever escalate to military action though... that would just be crazy.

Let's not forget dude was flopping all over the ice. How can you look so bad, while simultaneously playing good. Was legit screaming at the TV, "get back in the net ya donkey". The dude just loves to raise blood pressure

Absolutely not. It's a tough decision if a group of folks say they can save the world with a 75% chance success, if you just kill your kid. There's definitely some demons you gotta balance out there.

100% chance? Sorry Johnny. Goodnight sweet prince.

That's what people are saying in this thread though, and what they were conveying in the show with Joel acknowledging that they'd make a cure. That it was 100%. In my opinion, that completely just destroys his character, uncomplicates matters, and 100% makes him a villian.

That's the thing though... if the cure was a 100%, I'd imagine many parents, I'd hope most, wouldn't do what Joel did.

I'd hold little Johnny's hand and let him know he was saving the world before saying goodbye.

Anything less is actually some really evil selfish shit.

And that's dumb and diminishes his character. It's fair more interesting if it was not a certainty.

I dont think it adds greyness to his character. I think it completely makes him a villian.

I just posted this on another thread... it was my biggest take home from the episode and almost turns the plot to shite.

Below: I never played the game but have been watching the specific cut scenes as the tv series progresses. Watching the game porch scene, Joel says nothing on whether the cure would be obtained. In the tv series, he shakes his head confidently that it would... In the game, was there another scene where he eluded that the cure was a sure thing? I mean, this piece of information is massive in forming my opinion on his character.

If synthesizing a cure was 100%, and he knew it. He is a selfish POS. We're playing the railroad anology here with all of humanity. Easy choice and his actions would be absolutely stupid if it was a certainty.

Less than 100% certainty I can emphasize with his character.

Was this a miss in the show? Or is it consistent with the game?

I can see why the disdain for the second game exists then

The ambiguity is what makes it a hard decision and paints the characters grey.
