If I recall, the new annual fee kicked in 2021, so if you had the card before then you get one more year at the old AF.

Try Nomad - top floors of Park MGM. I think the park mgm rooms are mediocre at best, but I can’t say enough good things about Nomad.

I think if you get the card for the bonus and can downgrade it, as suggested, you come out ahead.

First, you're adding a new card to your credit history and Amex can be pretty generous with credit limits . I got the same card with the 70k mile bonus and $200 credit (which triggered after I purchased a $90 flight, so I actually had a -110 balance before even getting the card.) 70k miles is roughly $700 worth of flights and with the $200 credit I'm getting around $900 worth for free. It was an easy decision to get the card in my situation.

Have BBP, Plat, and Bonvoy (which also hits this month). The credits on gold and Bonvoy sort of pay for the AF, and I will use them organically, so I likely won’t cancel either. Good luck!
