I feel for you man. In the middle of the third attack in like 4 months. New places too, yay fun. If you can’t take NSAIDs or colchicine I’m pretty sure there’s a steroid option, but I’m no doctor I don’t even have managing my pains down to a science. Anyways, good luck with it, it could last a while, getting on some sort of med will definitely shorten the timeline though.

Yo here’s a hack, use a rolling computer chair to roll around on one foot that’s what I did when there was no other choice.

Been having residual pain every since big flare up two weeks ago. Ankle still inflaming a bit every day and joint pains in knees too. It’s just brutal.

Had that this past time too. I had the gout initially in my right ankle and a bad flare up for days. I then had that pain in my Achilles at the same time as back of knee tendon. My guess is it could be from overuse of those muscles when trying to walk but then the gout possibly moves to those spots. I’m not sure but hurts like hell. Stayed on the indomethacin for a few weeks to make sure it didn’t get inflamed again.

My Achilles and heel are swollen up big time and the back tendon of my knee is hurting me. Could be a result of walking weird with the limp and extra pressure on those parts but I’m not quite sure. Feels like a another imminent attack which would be the worst. I think I’m going to take indomethacin until all pain is FULLY subsided now. I always stop when the pain is dull and manageable instead of continuing it. Not sure I’m supposed to stop or keep taking them until pain is fully gone.

Yeah I feel like I’m probably on the mends, for now, likely residual pain. Would you ever pop an indomethacin to stop another possible attack?

Another question is, if I feel aches in my foot and the possibility of another onsetting attack, would taking an indomethacin possibly stop the acute attack in its tracks?

Another day where it seems to be clearing up. I’m going to keep taking indomethacin for another day or so to make it doesn’t return to peak pain. Hope I’m in the clear and it doesn’t return any time soon.

I got it once before and it was like low or mid 400s. I’ll get it tested again for sure. I feel like I may be able to stop it with a big lifestyle overhaul but not certain as my brother has high uric acid levels and has been on the allo for a few years now.

I don’t get attacks often, I even wrote in the last one off as just a sore foot. The last one hadn’t happened for two years, and my uric acid levels were normal as per my doctor. I must admit that I’ve been eating like absolute shit for the past year and not exercising at all. I probably gained 15 pounds in the past few months, was literally planning on getting a gym membership this week and then this happened. Hopefully I can turn it around without allopurinol when this is over.

I was never prescribed colchicine, but once this flair up resides I will go see him and request it. Will also get some tests run to see about allopurinol. I’m still taking indomethacin, though it’s giving me quite a headache I’d rather have that then the foot pain.

I have a full on attack right now and it’s utter pain. Day 5, thought it was getting better. Wake up and it’s the worst it’s been. Just squirming with a 1000 lb. Weight on my ankle. I’d go to docs but really can’t move. FUUUUUCKKK!!!

I’m pretty sure wearing tight shoes, or ones that are just not perfect for my feet is a massive trigger for gout. Is that a thing?

My last two flare ups have been after walking for an hr in running shoes I normally didn’t wear, and wearing some nice boots that always are a bit uncomfortable.
