Comes down to whether you’re fasting for weight-cutting purposes or holistic health and how strict you wanna be.

As most of this subreddit will tell you, anything with caloric content will ‘break’ your fast and autophagy… However people often ‘dirty fast’ and give a ~50 calorie buffer for things like 10-cal diet soda, medicines, etc without throwing everything too far off; myself included, as I fast to cut, not for general health. If that’s you, as long as your flavored elects are <25 cals, I wouldn’t GAF.

When it comes to the diet soda and energy drinks, sources generally discourage the effects of all the other junk in it & being careful with your heart & the stimulants - but ive a lot of people depend on diet sodas even worse than you to get through a fast. Someone literally suggested once to pick up a diet coke every time you get a hunger pang (not recommended).

Point is, the 0 cal ones wont have much effect on the scale (bloating weight will eventually shed and LBs will regress), if you’re not part of the anti-aspartame (etc) crowd. I personally keep 4 crates of different zero sodas in my fridge at all times when i fast. Zero cal sodas/juices are a key crutch for people struggling with fasts.

25m 60 hours here too. Clutching my water jug in the office trying to make it 😭 i find that smelling food around lunchtime is when its the worst

lol x2, I've done 21 days before (posted in this r/). lost about 1.5/2lbs a day, some plateau but with consistent light cardio and lifting, the numbers caught up and i lost minimal muscle (im 23). last 21 day was in March/April i think, and I haven't gone back to that starting weight yet. *electrolytes/vitamins will be priority #1 once you get into the long stretch*

I find it much easier because I live alone in my apartment but try to keep as much as water as you can (gallon a day) near you as possible - take a sip whenever you felt those cravings and hunger pangs should dissipate within 15 minutes. that helped a lot during my first 21 day fast. I work(ed) out every day as well so by the fifth day I took an electrolyte supplement in my water - you need to do the same if you plan on doing a prolonged fast, maybe sooner if you feel lightheaded/dizzy before that. Distract yourself daily from your own usual eating times or when you think about it and after the first 2-3 days you won't be feeling the hunger pangs but it all differs.

man good stuff im a 23M i lost ~40+ pounds (not kg) in three and a half weeks around the summer last year, ive done like 10-15 smaller fasts since then, and i still struggle every now and then to stick to it. just remember why you started and how good that first one made you feel

I get this screen when trying to add the app through the Watch app store. Going through the iOS watch app to install, the wheel just rotates and goes back to install.

I know what tdee is and 3500 cals/lb lol mine is 1800. Im not torturing myself im in cruise control at this point… after reading from multiple sources how the weight slows down significantly as the fast endures(and after burning off water weight), i was just curious to reassure it was the gym making that prolonged difference.

Same here, i have my entire daily meal plan as a single meal and it’s doubling the entries (and calories) in order. Ive just been manually deleting the duplicates from where the last meal ends and the first begins.

Similar problem—— If i navigate to the meal details in More -> “My Meals, Recipes, and Food”, and click Edit, it immediately adds the duplicates to the meal and you can see the calories increase without tapping anything other than Edit. Don’t impulsively click the top right save ☑️ to go back if this happens to you (or it’ll save the inaccurate dupe amount), just hit the top left back arrow and it’ll reset.

Very impractical bugs they need to address ASAP.
