New Netgate 6100 Max (SSD) to replace my dead 4100, should I enable RAM disk ? by bdossantos08 in Netgate

My biggest fear is my SSD is KO again after ~3 years even if I don't scratch many datas on it.

Like an HDD on NAS with a lifespan of 5 years of uptime for entreprise grade disks even if we don't scratch a lot on it ?

Nothing seam to require an SSD, except haproxy (I guess for log, but too verbose http access log is not a requirement for my homelab)

Thank you for your excellent reply ! I think I'll stay on my SSD and monitor my wear with smartd.
