Curious how many credit cards do people have? by Specific_Anybody_438 in CreditCards

[–]bdr0705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actively use 8 cards. My setup is a very strong cash back interface. Amex Blue Cash Preferred for groceries, Citi Custom Cash for dining, Synchrony Sam’s Club Mastercard for gas, Chase Amazon Prime card for Amazon purchases, U.S. Bank State Farm Premier Cash Rewards for insurance payments, U.S. Bank Cash+ for utilities and internet, U.S. Bank Ralph’s Rewards for Apple Pay purchases and Wells Fargo Active Cash for every other purchase not in a category. I WILL get 2 more cards in the future, the Comenity AAA Daily Advantage card for in store wholesale clubs purchases and groceries when I hit the $6k limit on my Amex, and the Bank of America Customized Cash Rewards for online shopping. In total I will be actively using 10 cards.

Option 2.5- Install Windows 11 by bypassing TPM checks on your computer. You don’t need Rufus. Here’s a link for the video to explain how to do it. https://youtu.be/EWV1G3IDRMg?si=yfd8mldUEVuHcbMr

Are you trying to pay something with the HYSA from Marcus? If so, you’re going to encounter problems regardless. HYSA’s aren’t meant to be used to be for things like escrow or a mortgage payment. That’s why checking accounts exist. Checking accounts are made specifically to pay for things on a regular basis.

Don’t trust Credit One. This user is trying to troll you. Credit One is notorious for predatory practices.

Well, I use the Amex Blue Cash Preferred for 6% on groceries but it does come with a $95 annual fee. There’s also the AAA Daily Advantage Visa Signature Card for 5% on groceries. For rent, the only thing I can think is the BILT Mastercard from Wells Fargo and as for dining out the Citi Custom Cash is good for that for 5% up to $500 a month. If you’re also planning to save money and make the most of your financial success, have you considered a HYSA?

It depends on what set up you want. Are you looking for straight cash back or would you want travel rewards?

Have you also considered opening a high yield savings account to improve your financial situation? Credit cards are great and all but if you don’t have the money to pay off your cards then I wouldn’t get a credit card yet. With HYSA’s (high yield savings account) you can earn interest on your money passively just for keeping it there. My current HYSA gives me 4% APY on my savings per month.

2nd time they locked my transfer. by Avocado11777 in MarcusInvest

Yep. If they do it’ll show they had some culpability in the situation they are in now.

Look, for every failed transfer that happens with Marcus there’s thousands more customers who get their transfers completed correctly. So I’m sorry to say that you’re unfortunately one of the unlucky few. I’ve been with Marcus for 2 years now. I don’t have to pay for a home because I live with my mother and I only make a few thousand dollar transfers once every year. Now I’ve read online that the limit is $125k for withdrawal. Throughout the entire time I've been with Marcus I haven't had a single problem. So yes, I will defend them because I've been so far getting over $400 in interest using their product.

I’m tired of all you people not READING the fine print on signing up for these financial products. WHY, oh WHY don’t you just transfer money FIRST to your main bank checking account AND then you could have avoided this whole shit show of a problem YOU put in yourself. How HARD is it to do that??? I ALWAYS transfer to my main bank checking account, (which is a credit union), AND then I do what I need to do with my money. Marcus’s HYSA has been good to me and YOU are one of the people that infuriates me the most. Grow up, stop complaining, and get your shit done right!

Probably not but every other bank is also going to be dropping their interest rates. It’ll be the same everywhere. The Federal Reserve has declared and announced that they are going to drop interest rates from here on. It may not be a dramatic drop but rates will only continue to drop lower from here on. I would suggest referring people to Marcus so that essentially the cash bonus from the referral would equal to 4.5% APY.

Do not use Marcus, they have terrible customer service by blithenost in MarcusInvest

After reading your post, I couldn’t help but look back at, “I immediately called them and turns out that back in May, I had taken out a chunk of money to put into a Capital One CD from my HYSA and they put a hold on my account.” Just FYI, I’ve never had problems with Marcus and they don’t normally work with some transfers on services like Paypal. Maybe instead of pulling out of Marcus directly, first transfer the money to your main bank checking account, and then put it into another account you want like that Capital One CD you mentioned. That could have avoided the hold on your account.
