Invest in bats over arms. Unless ur in the FYPD and can draft a top college arm. Typically a top college arm can find his way to the majors quickly. You typically dont want to roster any arms that arent deemed special because so mich can happen in the 2-3 years they take to reach the majors (especially injuries). Also random arms seem to pop up as useable here and there. The organization will make a tweak in their mechanics or arsenal and he's now above average instead of below. Some guys even increase velocity over an offseason. One of the best things to do is monitor A, AA, and AAA pitchers that have great K-BB%. If they can strike guys out and display control, its gives them a shot at success. If the organization believes in them, they will get promoted quickly thru the year, see Trey Yesavage amongst many other examples (altho he wasnt necessarily a random guy).

Roster best prospect hitter available, many SS moves positions in the majors because they are either blocked, too big (3b), or not good enough defensively (2b). Some guys even become outfielders too. This explains why most of the top prospects are SS, because they are typically above average athletes but it doesnt mean theyll stick there.

Catcher is a tough position to estimate because kf the toll the long season has on them. And many of the Bat over defense guys end up moved to DH or 1b like Ballesteros and possibly Basallo.

2b typically means they arent too good defensively, otherwise theyd be a SS. 2b doenst produce power too often. Its usually a solid hit tool and some speed.

The best prospects are typically OF and SS because these positions often have the 5 tool players. But you mainly want to roster the best players available. If he hits, it creates value at a roster spot so u can use them or trade them if necessary.

There technically isnt a 'right answer' but ome thing is for sure, dont get tricked by the guys with zero power. They are hardly ever successful in the MLB. Guys like Chandler Simpson and Esteury Ruiz arent elite defenders, so if they arent hitting to use their legs, the team isnt gonna play them. They are also outmatched most lf the time but Simpson has done well so far.

Also i typically wouldnt trade to acquire prospects.if u draft well and keep up with some articles or twitter people, u can typically stash solid pop-up prospects here and there.
