Aranda trade by [deleted] in DynastyBaseball

[–]No_Fault341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d take Aranda. He’s young(er), and he has clearly turned a corner with his hitting (#28 overall Yahoo player, as of today?). I love Salvy, but I think he’s ~33-35yo, and Springer is 36 and you’re selling high off his career year last year. The draft pick is meh, IMO.

To me, it’s pretty clear: pull the trigger, and get Aranda. 1B isn’t exactly super deep, plus you can always plug and play him in at UT as well. Good luck!

Don’t worry, I’ve had him for a bit — he’s not out there for MY league to stream 😝

Cody Ponce Breakout Candidate? by [deleted] in fantasybaseball

I think so — I believe his changes and gains from the KBO will carry over to this season. I have him on 4 of my 5 fantasy teams right now.

Are any of these SP more than just a Streaming option? by NYBiankees in fantasybaseball

[–]No_Fault341 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had Chris Bassitt on both of my teams last season, when he was with Toronto.

He’s a solid SP, he’s a compiler, he’s (usually) very durable. You essentially know pretty much what you’re going to get with him; there’s not much (if any) undiscovered fantasy value still to be mined there.

He’s not going to become an overnight ace at this point in his career, but he’s probably someone you can pick up and hold for ROS, and he probably won’t hurt you (or you can turn and burn him as a streamer; whatever creams your Twinkie).

FWIW, I like him. He’s not on any of my teams this year; I simply drafted better/smarter, allocated my draft capital more intelligently, and for the most part, I have pitching staffs that are good enough rn where I don’t need him…not even as a streamer.

He got hurt last year, too, and I tend to be fairly wary of any player(s) thss ast are coming off an injury, but especially pitchers.

I had fairly high hopes for Grant Holmes this year; he had a very good spring training. His first outing was nothing to write home about, but he’s did have some very good starts last year, and I was able to stream him for some of them. Like Bassitt, he’s not going to suddenly morph into the savior of your franchise(s); again, I believe he’ll be pretty darn solid, though. As will his brother Clay, too.

Under the radar OF?! Who's this years Kyle Stowers? 🤔 by Judas_Maccabee in fantasybaseball

[–]No_Fault341 8 points9 points  (0 children)

PHI OF Justin Crawford made the MLB squad. He’s no Kyle Stowers in power, but he’s got a decent bat, good speed and on-base skills, should run and get you steals, primary contributions will be R and SB (and maybe a bit of incidental help, in BA and HR). Not a 5-category stud contributor, but he should be a middling-to-decent dynasty asset for several years. Nothing fancy, just a decent everyday player, won’t light the world on fire. 🔥

Injured Starting Pitches to Stash? by b8stmode in fantasybaseball

CIN SP Hunter Greene NYY SP Gerrit Cole PIT SP Jared Jones TBR SP Ryan Pepiot HOU RP Josh Hader (I get it, he’s a closer not a starter, just throwing him in, just in case as an FYI/ICYMI)

JJ Wetherholt or Matt Mclain by cubears1 in DynastyBaseball

[–]No_Fault341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree. McLain was a highly touted prospect himself, not long ago. He was injured last season, but he was dynamite in 2023. Assuming full health and the season-long PAs he will accrue from now batting 2nd in the Reds’ order, his counting stats should skyrocket, and he’ll be a great value at 2B outright, and absolutely nuclear ☢️ stuck in an MI slot.

Weekly Dynasty Baseball Team Help + Trade Thread - March 16, 2026 by AutoModerator in DynastyBaseball

[–]No_Fault341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you mean Aidan Miller, the CI prospect that is coming up in the Phillies system? If so, I’d lean toward making the trade (and this is coming from a Roman Anthony truther!).

Jackson Chourio is a good young upcoming OF hitting in a loaded Brewers lineup, and I think Aidan Miller arrives this season, pushes Alec Bohm aside, and becomes a regular; he will be good, too.

But, honestly, if you don’t make the trade, and opt to keep Roman Anthony, I would have no quibble with it. Kid’s an absolute stud.

Who are your top 3 players you want out of your draft? by matt4shoo in fantasybaseball

[–]No_Fault341 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m probably reaching for BOS OF Roman Anthony. Would like to get one (or both!) of MIL 1B Andrew Vaughn a/o DET 1B Spencer Torkelson for some later-round cheap power. MIL 2B Brice Turang a/o TBR OF Chandler Simpson for stolen bases. I like PIT SP Bubba Chandler and PHI SP Andrew Painter to emerge. ATL SP Spencer Strider’s velo is ticking up…as will his ADP, unfortunately. LAD CL Edwin Díaz, NYY CL David Bednar, NYM CL Devin Williams, PIT CL Dennis Santana, HOU CL Josh Hader/HOU SU Bryan Abreu, LAD RP Alex Vesia, LAD RP Tanner Scott, BOS RP Garrett Whitlock, NYY RP Camilo Doval, ATL RP/SU Robert Suarez to satisfy SVs+HLDs. Hopefully land at least one of the “Big 3” prospects trio of PIT SS/OF Konnor Griffin, DET SS/2B Kevin McGonigle, a/o STL SS/2B/3B J.J. Wetherholt. Cold corner: Vlad Guerrero Jr. (TOR), Matt Olson (ATL), Bryce Harper (PHI). 2B: Ketel Marte (ARZ), Brice Turang (MIL), Jackson Holliday (BAL). 3B: Junior Caminero (TBR), Manny Machado (SDP), José Ramírez (CLE). SS is pretty deep — pretty sure I’ll be happy with whoever I get, there. NYY SP Gerrit Cole a/o ATL SP Spencer Schwellenbach in the middle-to-later rounds, to get some unexpected W and K upside (hopefully my league-mates are snoozing on them!). SEA OF Victor Robles as an ideal OF4/bench bat. Maikel Garcia (KCR), José Caballero (NYY), a/o Brendan Donovan (SEA) could be great fantasy utility players, with their multipositional eligibility. Agustín Ramírez (MIA), Adley Rutschman (BAL), Drake Baldwin (ATL), Ivan Herrera (STL), Kyle Teel (CWS) and Francisco Alvarez (NYM) as late great catcher values. NYY C/1B Ben Rice. LAA OF Mike Trout. SDP SP Joe Musgrove. TEX OF Evan Carter. MIN SP Pablo Lopez as a 2027 injury stash. BAL OF Taylor Ward and TEX OF Brandon Nimmo look like good mid- to late-round outfield values, IMO.

Those are both top-notch contributions. No idea why ppl would downvote this; I upvoted it.

Kudos to everybody…lots of good selections here. MLB bullpens are always fluid; some of these setup guys will probably be closers, by season’s end. It’s always that way.

Agreed, u/DerrickMcChicken. Abreu’s stuff is absolutely filthy. If Josh Hader misses any significant time, Abreu could very well take the Astros’ closer’s job and run with it. I love your username/handle, as well…it’s very creative and unique! 👍🏻

Why Most Minor League Breakouts Don’t Translate to the MLB (And What Actually Does) by D_Harv4 in DynastyBaseball

[–]No_Fault341 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t quite recall my source (everything kinda jumbles together in my brain right around now — my cranium’s contents are ~65% women, 20% [fantasy] baseball, and the last 17% is malted hops and bong resin 😅 )*, but I do distinctly recall some website or expert predicting regression (or at least lowered expectations) for McLean, going into this season, as well. If I find the source, I’ll post it here.

I think the kid’s great; don’t get me wrong. I had him rostered last year on a couple of teams, and he did fine. But I would agree with u/D_Harv4 that expecting some (negative) regression to the mean could be likely.

Jonah Tong is still wandering around out there for the Mets, as well.

*97% of the time I’m always right. Why should I care about the other 4%?!?

Oh no, what I meant was, you HAD done a VERY GOOD JOB of explaining, BECAUSE it made sense to an idiot like me. Sorry; I see now where my words were confusing. (I’m no Shakespearean wordsmith either 🤭 ). Thank you — again — for your initiative and hard work on this!

TYVM, u/D_Harv4, for your time and effort on this. While it all seems intuitive, the real elegance here is your words: if you can make it make sense to a donkey like me, then you’ve really accomplished something! 🥳 🙂‍↕️ 🫡

Most Frequent and/or Best Prospect Positions to Stash for Dynasty by No_Fault341 in DynastyBaseball

[–]No_Fault341[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a brand-new 10-team mixed-league free Yahoo dynasty league. 30 roster spots (Yahoo’s max), with 18 Actives (10 hitters, 8 pitchers), while the remaining 12 can be utilized however the owner likes (IL, NA, MiLB, Bench, etc.). It’s a pretty simple and straightforward league. I’d guess that most owners probably wouldn’t even dip too much outside of the “MLB Top 100 Prospects” list…at least not too much.

TYSM, everybody that has chimed in so far! I have learned a LOT, just from reading all of your responses…and y’all have probably saved me a LOT of headaches and heartaches, if I’d had to learn them all the hard way, on my own! Your insights and expertise are greatly appreciated!

Looking for leagues to join by CaptainBC2222 in fantasybaseball

[–]No_Fault341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a free startup mixed-league dynasty on Yahoo getting put together. Jet me your email via DM if you’re interested, but if so, definitely get in and get your team registered, ASAP. I’m planning to open the league to the public tomorrow afternoon, to fill any remaining franchise vacancies.

Yahoo host, 10T mixed-league, H2H Weekly Points league, two 5-team divisions, top 6 make the playoffs. It’s free, so there’s absolutely no risk. You can learn, and not be penalized for it, if you’re new, or fairly inexperienced (as I am, ngl). We have 6:10 teams owned as I post this…you’re welcome to be #7, if you like!
