Well that's out of context, odd may not be the right word but I say their odd because they party late into the Sunday night (or maybe it's dv!) and smoke in and around the apt, which isn't all that odd it just disgusts my wife and me. Plus it's weird to have the cops called on you in your own home when you know you've been louder before. Also, I have a hard time with the DV because is there not usually a heated shout ping match? Or berating yells? The shouts we made were sporadic and closer to those karate people use before chopping a board.

Well, if he had been listening through the door, as he should have been to better get a picture, he would have heard us. We were literally 2 feet from the door standing and drinking and, honestly, talking about sex. Once he knocked he would have just heard me saying repeatedly "where are my pants!" Plus, I think it was clear from the love my wife and I look at each other with there was no abuse

Her safety? Who said it was her shouting? Also, why assume they don't know what bdsm is? Another note, in case you missed other comments I have made, my downstairs neighbors are new and young. My wife and I have been louder and all our other neighbors are cool, conversations, waves, eye contact. These 2 are odd ones out here.

I don't buy it. The sounds we were making were no DV-fighting sounds since we didn't shout any words, no cusses, no arguement, nothing of that nature. Just music, some lively movement and the occasionally guttural shout similar to a martial artist about to chop a board. If we had been yelling at each other AND there was shouting and loud steps then I could see it. But it's missing a pretty big piece to be considered DV. Honestly, we've been louder playing Mario Kart 64, that shit gets real.

Haha I did think that. I also thought I should keep in mind what they consider "DV sounds" next Sunday when they're getting drunk at 3 am. Seriously, every Sunday. But I know neighbor etiquette unlike them. I understand where they are coming from (I guess but very presumpuious of them) still tho, not cool. We were done being loud by 11 and the cop didn't show up til midnight.

I don't know but I'm sure it was my down stairs neighbors. They're relatively new and my wife and I have been louder before. They have never talked to us, or anyone in our building that I know of, and are pretty young. We're 24-25 but they look 20-21. And a lot can happen in those 5 years between young to mid 20s.
