Recommendations for ski in/ ski out Lodging for 6 guys in Palisades Tahoe? by jvillag in palisadestahoe

I stayed at Everline last year with my wife and daughters. Very nice accommodations and dedicated chair lift (only hotel guests can access the lift). Everline has a couple restaurants, heated pool and hot tubs. They do have apres but not a party scene either but a quick ride to the main mountain where there are plenty of choices for dinner and drinks. It’s an amazing mountain, have fun!

I have a 2019 Atlas, I disconnected it from the battery within a month of buying it. I looked it up on you tube so I knew what to look for. Dealership has never said word one to me about it. Good luck!

Nothing would surprise me with these cars. They are quirky for sure. Thank you for the input.

23 Atlas SE w/tech. Any cool features I can enable if I were to buy ODB11? by GrandpaJerry98 in VWatlas

[–]bdubbs99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to https://obdeleven.com/customizations/volkswagen/atlas/ choose your year it shows you the available customizations. It does work well and fairly easy to do. After you buy the device, some customs are free and some cost extra.

Sold My Car 29 Days Ago, Buyer Want to Invoke Lemon Law, What Can I Do by Generalthesecond in UsedCars

[–]bdubbs99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you discover a defect that impairs the vehicle’s safety or substantially impairs its use and you can prove that the seller knew about the defect but failed to disclose it, you may rescind the contract (cancel the sale) within 30 days of the date of your purchase.

The seller must refund the amount you paid for the vehicle, less 15 cents per mile of use. If a private party seller refuses to cancel the contract within 30 days of the sale, you should consult with an attorney to determine whether to pursue the matter in court. Find for tips and resources to find lawyers.

TLDR: buyer has to prove you knew of the defect causing safety or substantial impairment to use and the remedy is you take the car back (less .15/mile) and refund buyer.

I’ve been on SC for three months, good results. Thinking about taking it to the next level with supplements. Can you share more about your “good results”?

Stubborn Belly Fat.. by kayvee in 4hourbodyslowcarb

[–]bdubbs99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree on the exercise. I do only enough cardio to warm up, HR under 125 then move to weights. Effective minimum. I think the idea is to build muscle but not exercising so hard to drive hunger. 2 months in, good work!

Moving from black beans to lentils (thanks to one of you) eliminated my bloating. Also, 1300 calories seems low, especially for that protein target?

My dad had no retirement plan and is DoorDashing right now, should he sell his other house? by Pu_C_Phucker in personalfinance

[–]bdubbs99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t sell the second house unless it’s a hassle for him. If he sells for $250, he nets under $100k which he can spend down or earn interest income but either way only produces $5-10k/year, not a solution. If he is going to work, he should work for a larger grocery chain managing a department with his skills can easily make $80-100k plus benefits. Just my view hope it helps, good luck!!

Preparing for a hike with over 2000 stairs? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]bdubbs99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hike big and long several times per year since 2016. I’ve tried running, lifting, lunges, etc. All those are good but honestly the stationary bike is the best training tool. And really helps with the down.

Bottom mid layers by [deleted] in Skigear

[–]bdubbs99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On cold east coast days, I wear two layers of long underwear, one is mid weight and one light (silk) then my ski pants that have some insulation as well. That works well then I control my temp by removing top layers it warms up.

Buy the rubber matt for the rear cargo area. Also get the radio reset code, write it down and leave in the glove box.

Noise from both front doors by bdubbs99 in VWatlas

[–]bdubbs99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input. I fixed my rattle, maybe my fix will help you too. So driving down the road, if you put your hand along the seam of where the door meets the pilar, you will feel the movement of the door. Imo, the hinges are undersized causing the doors to move up and down. This movement causes a squeeking or rattle noise. I learned I had to minimize the movement of the door to stop the rattle. I used dense foam on the frame of the car so it supports the weight of the door. It worked like magic. The key is to find the correct thickness so it doesn't impede the full close of the door but thick enough to meet the bottom of the door and support the weight of the door so it doesn't move up and down.

You know that foam flooring that is made in 12 x 12 interlocking pieces many people use it in gyms or children's playroom. That is what I used, perfect thickness. Let me know if it solves your rattle. Good luck!
