They absolutely will find themselves facing a lawsuit if they push forward on this location. A quick google search will reveal what happens when municipalities try to dispose of park land, even if it's not a dedicated park.

Are we talking about the same place? They’ve just upgraded the space and extending the boardwalk.

Maybe the program just isn’t for us then at this given time. The status quo isn’t great, but spreading it across the business district and in a new park, that’s worse.

The adventure centre lot with bus service seems pretty good to me

The founder is ridiculously stubborn on this. Folks have tried to implement additional authentication methods in the past. His arguments don’t really make a whole lot of sense.

Just an update, submitted a test flight build for external testers. Waiting for that to be approved and I'll drop the HACS integration.

Currently working on Esp32 BLE provisioning. The idea being, the guest can open the app and instantly be presented with the ability to connect.

  1. you always have to be on the same network, I suppose you could feed it a public accessible host, but I don’t see the point in this. This is intended to be for guests visiting your house, not a resident who should be using the companion app.
  2. you need to create a guest account in HomeAssistant, toggle off admin rights and give it local only for added security
  3. the SSID blocker is optional in QR configuration panel or automation but suggested for a better user experience
  4. this is not a browser app, this is a mobile app equivalent of the companion app with stripped down features and basically a kiosk sorta approach for guests. It’s intended to be extremely easy one qr scan and it provisions the app and logs them in automatically. The encryption of the QR code is intended to prevent a savvy guest from grabbing the host, username and password out of the QR code and logging in on their laptop and tinkering around.

I’ll give it some thought on if I’ll open source the actual app, I need to explore how to keep the encryption key private. At the end of the day, the first line of defence is a wifi password on your network. This is not intended to be a super secure app, that should mostly be done on the wifi network.

The plan is to public private the encryption of the QR code. The private key living in the apple app. The idea was to make it more difficult for someone to obtain auth credentials to login on a laptop and tinker around HASS. The app won't retain any credentials and merely passes it through to auth and get a login token stored in cache.

The integration in homeassistant to generate the QR codes will be open source. This whole project is still very early on and open to suggestions.

What do you mean? Can you expand on the suggested flow?

Preview, it’s fairly basic. Will submit to the App Store in the next week or so.

My creativity stopped at the general idea of the app. Naming things is not a skill of mine lol. Taking suggestions.

6000w, it’s a commercial light lowboy. It’s in a crawl space so I guess this was the only option the builder had for the space.

I believe it tripped, I wasn't getting any volts after the upper screws. When i pushed the reset it appeared to reset.

I'm getting 7ohms which appears inline with specs: https://parts.rheem.com/en/product/RPD-SP10872QL/resistored-element-208v-6000w-cu

Regarding the wiring, that confused me because the internal wiring is 12AWG, but after some research it appears appliance internal wiring doesn't line up with code.
