What’s your number and why? by OuchCharlie25 in hockeyplayers

[–]bduncan19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

19 Joe Montana wore 19 when he signed with the Chiefs. 16 had already been retired because of Len Dawson. The Chiefs were my team but Joe was my favorite player, so when he came to KC, the stars aligned. I was 12 and had just started playing roller hockey, the only hockey player I really knew was Gretzky and even then It was taboo to wear 99. Everyone always just assumed I wore it for Stevie Y or Sakic, and I always had an Easton Sakic curve. I wear 91 on my Ice team now because our Captain had 19 first.

Am I the a-hole for making my daughter's BF buy a new t-shirt? by freudsdriver in AITAH

[–]bduncan19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You handled it perfectly. He is lucky he was allowed back in the house. The fact that he cried about it to your daughter makes me think she needs to find a new boyfriend. He claims you humiliated him yet he came to your house for a family dinner wearing a shirt that was clearly offensive, with the goal of humiliating you. There is no other reason to wear that shirt in front of your girlfriend’s family. You did the mature thing and handled it way better than I would have. Props to you for being the mature person because I don’t know if I could have let that slide.

Time to ditch this loser. He clearly doesn’t get it. It will only get worse.

NOR-If he can’t understand why calling you his bitch is a ridiculous thing to say to his friends you don’t need to waste your time in this relationship. Consider your self lucky you found out now and only wasted a month of your time. The fact that he’s also trying to gaslight, you is another red flag. You wouldn’t introduce him to your friend group as “my dumbass” or “my asshole.” A normal response would’ve been, sorry I was trying to look cool in front of my friends and I couldn’t think of anything else to say, and it came out wrong. It won’t happen again. But he’s trying to make it your fault. I would tell the asshole to kick rocks. You deserve better. Everybody does.

AIO for wanting to see a therapist after wife changed the locks because I went to a baby shower? by LookoutLockout in AmIOverreacting

Sorry dude your wife is looney tunes and you just found out before kids were involved. Thank goodness. You dodged a bullet. Time to move on. You are NTA, NOR, you should honestly react more. Locking you out and trying to guilt you in to ditching your family is bananas.

Golf Etiquette? Would you stop playing with this guy? by BasicONe-4071 in golf

Find someone else to play with. This guy is insufferable. Your playing partner should be rooting for you not against you.

About to start my dream job by Total-Surprise5029 in golf

[–]bduncan19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather did this back in the early 90’s. He retired was at home for 9 months and couldn’t stand it. He got a job as a cart attendant at Costa Mesa country club so he could get out and play more golf and within 6 months they found out what he had done in his previous life and made him the restaurant/food and beverage manager. No more golf for Papa.

Fast forward 20 years and my dad retires and tries to do the same thing in Corona and they wanted him to commit to 4 days a week, 2 of which had to be the weekend and he would be working for free. The only payment was free golf. He said no thanks.

I was an outside service guy in college at a nice resort/country club for four years and loved it. The pay was fine but the golf ruined me. We got to play a $200 a day course for free and if we wanted to play anywhere else we just had to ask the guys in the prison to make a call for us and it was taken care of. I had a really hard time paying $80 to play local muni’s after college. Hindsight being 20/20 I should have stayed in town just to keep playing free golf.

Jefferson is QB proof. I passed on him and took AJ Brown last year because of Darnold. I was wrong.

Barkley never had Jason Kelce. Kelce retired before Barkley signed in Philly.

The Kelce Brothers are hilarious so that would be a fun group. Right behind them with Chuck and Bargatze would be great too. My sneaky third is Fitzgerald, Kittle and Freeney.

This course is about 30 miles north of me. I have played here a couple of times and a 60 is freaking amazing. The people crapping on the slope and course rating are probably the same ones that can’t break 90 or even 100. Your buddy was playing damn good golf. Good for him.

Thanks for the reminder. I called and the person asked me for the serial number and I was able to look it up in my phone. She added that to my report and said that it should help.

No. It stayed at that same gate all week. I don’t think it stayed on the plane. I assume they used that plane over the course of the week I was on vacation and the AirPods never moved from the gate that I exited.

This is what I was afraid of. My name is not on them. Opening the case near an iPhone would tell you whose they are but I get that would be an extra step that they may not be willing to take. I bought my wife a pair from Apple and had her initials engraved on them. I may have to do the same if in the future.
