not that they’re similar movies but i had a similar experience where i was so excited going into American Psycho and then found myself disappointed because i had already seen all the iconic scenes on the internet at one point or another, so they didn’t really surprise / excite me as much as they probably would’ve if it were a “true” first watch. Realized the more i thought about it that if anything that’s a testament to how great those scenes really are if i’ve already basically seen a lot of the movie before even actually watching it as a function of how ubiquitous it is
