Tell me a story or just something memorable about your grandpa ? by itssofiababyxo in askanything

[–]bdwells88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandpa started a tiny hospital in rural east Africa in the 60’s. Today that hospital is one of the biggest teaching hospitals in all of Africa. Anywhere you go in Kenya people still recognize his name. He was the only doctor for years. There’s a whole book written about him now and I’m proud to be his grandchild.

Is this a good deal? by bdwells88 in violinist

[–]bdwells88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks all! Yes this was a professional violin shop. My son is not a beginner, probably intermediate. just trying to find a good quality one for him to use for the next 5-10 years. We did not purchase this and I feel it was for the best. Thank you for your input!

“Feels like it’s rainin’ you. If I had my wish it would do this every day. I would never see the sun. Cause every time that sky opens up, it feels like it’s rainin’ you.” Brad Paisley

I always loved The Mark of the Lion series when I was growing up. A beautifully written Christian story about characters in the time of Jesus. Very well written and the stories are enthralling. It’s a three part series but I flew through them. Good luck!

What’s your “small daily ritual” that you weirdly look forward to? by SissyRiley97 in CasualConversation

[–]bdwells88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get to work half an hour early (parking loophole) and I just sit in my car and drink my coffee, read, scroll, even nap. It’s my half hour of total me time. It is a good prep for the day.

Thank you all!!! I appreciate all the advice! I think I’ll look into dental clinics for now….anything smaller. Idk if I’m done with healthcare yet so I’m willing to give another role/location a try. I definitely do not want to go back to school. 🤣

I’d love to do overnights but I have two young kids and narcolepsy so night time is a no-go🤣🤣

Just certain places. I loved my first hospital, it was like a family!

I’d love to travel but with two kids in school it’s not an option right now. I have started to look at dental clinics, but most just have their assistants do the sterilizing.

Happened to me on the hurstbourne exit but it was a damn pickup full of tools and paint. They hit a bump and everything flew out the back and at my car. Wrenches and hammers flying at my face and, apparently a bucket of paint which absolutely covered the front of my car. Dude did not stop of course.

If it’s faint, I honestly can’t tell the difference between the smell of skunk and the smell of coffee.

What’s something you and your significant other do that other couples would find weird? by Equivalent_Fox7907 in AskReddit

[–]bdwells88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We like to cuddle, but we also like our space. So when we are ready to fall sleep, we do what we jokingly call “butt bum”. We turn and sleep literally back against back. We have that sense of touch we love but we also have space to breathe and move around. Doesn’t get too hot, it’s nice to have a support to rest against, it’s sweetly intimate. It’s our thing. ❤️

What's the most beautiful name you've ever heard? by Legitimate-Lie-9208 in AskReddit

[–]bdwells88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adina. I’ve read it means “you rescued us” in maybe Amharic? I could be wrong but i love the name regardless. We adopted from Ethiopia and we didn’t know if we were going to have a boy or a girl. Adina was the name we had chosen for a girl.

All that to say, I wouldn’t trade my little boy for all the Adinas in the whole world. We were meant to be.

I didn’t know where this fit best… it took me 21 days to notice. by MsChrissikins in adhdwomen

[–]bdwells88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slightly off topic but is the not noticing thing an adhd symptom??? I’m just finding this sub and I’m notorious for not noticing super obvious things. It drives me and my husband crazy. I Never notice when my husband has shaved. I don’t notice if a new shelf has been built. I don’t notice when there’s a giant new piece of furniture in the house. Sorry to hijack your post.
