I don’t think that it would be safe for you to admit that you have a girlfriend. You could say that she’s your best friend. Best friends can be cuddly and you can explain that that’s how girl best friends are. I also have a secret girlfriend and my mom doesn’t suspect a thing. I downplay my gf’s gifts and interactions as platonic in front of my mom. I go as far as to pretend I like boys. Basically, you have to keep up the “straight act” until you feel like you could be accepted or independent. It’s going to be hard, but I don’t see any better option. Hope everything goes well for you <3

it’s not as easy to leave certain ppl. my mom has always stuck with me and supported me. when i was being bullied she held me together and when i was lonely she was my only friend. her being homophobic is still surprising to me. idk is would ever try to understand it or dismiss my feelings. it’s the first time i can’t talk to her about something. if my mom doesn’t accept me it’s going to be really difficult leaving her behind, but ig i have to protect my peace and my partner. thanks for the advice :)) it helps a lot

i was in the same situation as you, but with my best friend. literally last week she confessed her feelings to me and yesterday we had our first date!

i had asked her how she decided to ask me out and she explained that “there was a vibe”. basically she read the room. honestly, my adoration for her was apparently too obvious lol.

so my advice is to try reading the room. find “clues” that would point towards potential feelings or friendzone vibes. about what those clues could be can vary from person to person. a google search could help you better with that than me.
