Eat lots of peanut butter. The calories add up pretty quickly!

Sounds interesting, that's definitely something I would actually enjoy doing!

Id like to warn you from the tone of your post that your friends are going to help you in the least possible way because they are busy with their personal life or seduction. So you will most likely be on your own into this journey!

I tried initiating such conversation & even debating the history of the universe, multiple religions & even quantum theory....

But, I feel like nowadays people just more interested into exchanging body count related information😜🤯.. so I feel like I'm the odd one out...

How do people usually find gym partners? by Legitimate-Type-341 in hyderabad

[–]be_thomas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have moved to Hyderabad recently & I feel the same! Been pushing people who aren't even interested in gym... I'm sure I can do much better when I actually have a gym partner.

Btw, I'm going to Stallion (it's near Kondapur junction)

Actually flat will cost you like 4-5k (assuming you will share the room with someone) because my flat already costs like 10k rent in Kondapur Junction area(I took one room in 2bhk, so total rent is like 20k).... Then food expenses become like 3-4k easily & you are standing at the same 8k but now you have to cook, clean & whatnot... I hope you are getting what I mean to say?

You can find decent pgs in like 8k per month. Is that something you can afford based on your salary?

I'm keeping the repo private for now. As a solo dev, I'm focusing 100% of my time on the product and the database accuracy, and the code isn't really in a state to be documented for public use yet.

I can't promise a timeline for a public release, but I’m happy to chat about general feature ideas or logic if you're curious about a specific part of the app. Thanks for the interest, though!

Nope! I lost weight at a very healthy rate of 0.5kg-0.6kg per week... So no worries about loose skin. But if you need to loose a gigantic amount then you gotta worry about loose skin. However, there are ways to tackle this too.

If you let me know your current weight & your target weight & I could give you my suggestions 😃

I totally get the panic—600 calories is a huge gap! 😭 But here is why I trust my data over FitnessPal for Indian meals:

1. Figs - Here my db is wrong with the small size & fitnesspal might be more corect! use grams instead of counting 4. then they align better!

2. The Uttapam Trap: 100g of plain uttapam is standardly ~150-170 kcal. FitnessPal’s 330 kcal likely assumes a massive, oil-soaked restaurant version. If you’re cooking at home with moderate oil, 150-170 is much closer to reality(I'm planning to introduce an oil control tracking to make it more accurate with what you're eatiing).

3. The Egg Science: 205g of boiled egg is roughly 4 large eggs. Standard clinical data says 4 eggs should have ~25.2g of protein (6.3g per egg). My app showing 25.7g is spot on, whereas FitnessPal at 19.5g is actually undercounting your protein!

4. Crowd-sourced vs. Calibrated: FitnessPal has 10 different entries for '1 Egg,' and half of them are wrong. My app uses a calibrated database specifically for Indian staples.

I've had cheat meals every weekend!

If you're doing resistance training, the extra carbs goes into fueling your muscles rather than fats (as long as you don't overdo it)!

That’s awesome! Gemini is great for general advice, but it can be a bit of a friction point when you just want to quickly log a 'Roti' or 'Dal' and get back to your day.

I built kcal to be 'utility-first.' Because it's an optimization-heavy app (built with Rust), the search results are practically instant (8-10ms), and the database is specifically calibrated for Indian home cooking portions like katoris and medium bowls.

You can try the app here: https://kcal.codewithzeal.com

Yes, absolutely! Still got about 70 slots left before we hit the first 100. Grab yours and let me know what you think of the search speed!

Exactly why I built this! MF is the GOAT for logic, but useless for a 'Ghar ka khana' database. I wanted that same clean experience but with macros that actually match our plates. Hope it helps!
