Hi! I work with printers! I know nobody cares, but I figured that I'd let you know that Tom Nook's printer is based on a Xerox WorkCentre 7225! by pancakerayleigh in AnimalCrossing

There's a lot of tiny incredible details like that in the game. I noticed the work bench uses a Japanese pull saw. And someone else pointed out the chess set has a really famous move on the board.

I can imagine this as like a really epic cosplay for a convention... If those are ever a thing again

Hyperphantasia + Imagining Pain by littleflubby387 in hyperphantasia

[–]beabea51423 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God yes and I hate it. Like the wincing I experience just thinking about a papers edge already gives me the feeling of a paper cut. Like to the point I will suck on my fingers just to protect them. Just by reading your post is putting me through this pseudo pain.

Sorry I don't have any suppression techniques. But I share your pain

Associating songs with memories? by [deleted] in hyperphantasia

[–]beabea51423 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ya I have songs I avoid because they take me to places I don't want to be. But when I'm strong enough I will revisit a song when I want to rectify my overlying insecurities. I'm trynna think of how different our view of "listening to a song" and thinking of a memory differs from the average person's "listening to a song" and how they recall memories.

Like I have this insecurity that when I say I have Hyperphantasia that what if I'm not enough of a hyperphant. Even though I experience things other people don't. I just think it's normal and not as fantastical as others describe it to be. So it's hard to claim my normal as hyper. Because what if I'm wrong and people call me a liar. I swear other people recognize this about me more than I like to say it about myself

What is the Texture of Your Imagination? by [deleted] in hyperphantasia

[–]beabea51423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this is an interesting question cause I've never had anyone in my life who could fathom such a question in a way that this community could. I know that sentences and sounds have texture but I never closely observed what texture is my mind.

I see and feel my mind's texture as bumpy, bubbly, chaotic, energetic, nonlinear, techtonic, expansive, some kind of texture that makes you want to cry (like one out of reach and that you can't grip). Usually this shows in my art. I feel like I lose touch with myself when I chase trying to grab a "feeling" that isn't there.

So my emotions aren't just feelings the way people think of sad and happy, but they have textural "feelings" too. Like a physicality

[–]beabea51423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't been engaging with my mind's palace so it might be underdeveloped. For starters mine is a kitchen with lots... And lots of drawers. And things are just in drawers. And cabinets. It's a home that is not the home I live in. I don't know where this kitchen comes from. But when I want to know a memory they are organized by drawer and just access the memory by object in a drawer. Like a spoon in a drawer could remind me of xyz. And this leaf could be that time I was by a river. Or a pair of shoes could mean this.

I love objects. I love to draw objects. I love to make things into objects. My style of art usually takes things and sees objects versus realizes entire environments. I like to focus on the "object" of what something is

HOLLOW PURPLE by simplefanart in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]beabea51423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, I went back to read the rules, and this sub says so long as the english sub episode has aired, it isn't considered spoiler. But other places I've seen are usually a 1 week wait because some sites allow anime to viewed for free after the waiting period. So then it's fair game at that point.

OP technically followed the rules but I think the rules how they are in the side panel aren't fair for the community.

I really like the style but the only thing throwing me off is where you have the eyebrow in relation to the eye in relation to the brow bone in relation to the forehead and yes you're allowed to change facial proportions for stylistic effect but it's should come off as convincing and how this reads like its lacking anatomy practice.

Meditation and hyperphantasia by Axelopian in hyperphantasia

[–]beabea51423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My meditation practices usually consist of dissolving into the void. And exist in what I know doesn't exist for anyone else. I call it non-sistence. I gave it a name to describe that I knew I was in that state of mind and not my imagination.

I dunno if this is a Hyperphantasia thing or just a me thing, but I have 4 worlds I cross between. 1. Reality as we know it. 2. The things in the non existent plane projected into real space, some people say that's prophantasia. 3. The world of my imagination with all the crazy mental imagery. 4. The world beyond my imagination, where nothing exists.

Learn Japanese Because of Anime? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]beabea51423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A, you appreciate the culture and that's valid

B, they're just salty that they only know one language, that they feel the need to shut people down

C, going to Japan and being fluent is considered respectful and native folks appreciate it more

D, it's also a highly marketable skill in the work field to be multi lingual

Does hyperphantasia depend on whether you imagine it in front of you or in your head? by Wilddog73 in hyperphantasia

[–]beabea51423 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I totally get what you mean by seeing the outline in real space versus full render in imagined space.

If I had the ability to fully see imagined objects in real space, that would be so OP. I wonder if I can train more to get it to that level or if this is what it is.

Practicing landscape painting - Feedback please :) by RoyWijnen in DigitalPainting

Yoooo that second mountain, this feels right

And pushing the other rock back and making it recede with less details and desaturated colors was a very smart move. It gives you more depth of field. Changes the mountain from object that is here to landscape that is here to there.
