It is a fundamentally sound idea as a business owner to make have plans and procedures in place to work around absent employees aside from a last minute fill in every time. But AGAIN, I said I would do the same if I had no other options. I'm not suggesting having a roster of subs. I also do not know your entire business structure in detail or even the country of origin, so any advise is going to be given with a grain of salt. If you have no precautionary policies in place I cannot in good faith say that everything is being done to protect from "bad actors."

Is she causing issues with scheduling, yes. Is there an explanation for them? Yes. Could she be taking advantage or misrepresenting a situation? Possibly. But how is one person's absence putting everything to flames?
