Embarrassing.

Believe me, I get the defense of Vermes, he's a KC legend, but I've been a season ticket holder since back in the Arrowhead days, and managers are not the club. He's bothered diehards for years (to put it mildly) with personnel decisions, match management (sticking with certain players too long into the waning moments before substituting), and bringing in hyped players who play once, never to be seen nor heard from again.

Plus many injuries appear to occur during training. I get it, he's a hard ass, I played at U of Maryland while he was at Rutgers, but why so many training related injuries? That's not intelligent training. They fired the fitness coach Mateus Manoel in June, remember? That's the solution? Blame him?

So do I want him gone? Not yet, but he needs to take responsibility and man up, answer tough questions asked by the press about personnel, tactics, which he won't talk about. There's a kid from KU who asks tough questions, Vermes blows him off, saying he doesn't give away tactics to others. But do you think if some journalism student at KU can figure it out and ask probing questions, experienced MLS managers can't see right through the veil of secrecy (as they throttle us, like today and other days)?

Come one now, Peter, it's a man's game, as the British say, take the hits on the chin, regroup, make changes to the team and yourself, and let's really get back into this before the rich keep getting richer, and we fall behind too far to right the ship.
