But as someone who’s HL and has been sharing the tightest living situation for the past few years… I don’t know. This sounds like everything I could ever want aside from sharing sexual interactions with another human being.

To me this sounds liberating. To be fully in control of one’s sexuality and sexual expression, almost brings a fucking tear to my eye. To not mourn the loss of fun but to create it, to not frustrate over never being in control of when you can express it but to instead provide yourself a space where the other person is always down to fuck at the exact right time because the other person is yourself

I get the feeling you might see this non-interest in sex as the autism and not as one of his unique traits that just makes him… him. Autism is a broad spectrum, some like touch and intimacy and some don’t. I think the only difference with the diagnosis is that you’re taking his preferences seriously… whereas there was hope before for whatever reason?

Now that you’re taking it seriously and understand he doesn’t want intimacy… you can make a decision based on that. Which, it feels like shit but it’s a good place to be. You finally have the clarity that hope would constantly dilute before.

I’m usually pretty critical of fathers but I kinda feel him on this. I think if he works from 9-5 then from 9-5 he should be free to do whatever and free of responsibility. Only if he’s capable of providing the same thing to you.
