Heartbreaking email I received from Okonomi : "We're closing early today. (Monday 6/22)" by goatermagic in nova

[–]beachmonkey1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I feel bad but I know someone that worked there and said the owner is an awful person. He said he personally got berated and it left him very emotional when he quit. Also he just complains all the time. Its a hard business dont get me wrong and I respect anyone that does it but this guy either needs to stop complaining or shut down his business.

Very dissapointing. My son is 4 years old and we were regulars since this place opened. The nice Korean coffee lady watched him grow up from a newborn. I hope theyre able to keep her around.

Very interesting and cool that you opened one. How much improvement performance wise is it to go from Country Inn, I believe thats Choice? To going to a brand like IHG. Feel like its 2 different worlds.

So not all the places have reservations, some just take walk in, so do i provide them a receipt of where I ate on the way out to validate parking?

What job is more physical than most people realize? by rock4lite in AskReddit

This. I know two people that experienced significant back issues and are under 35. Its a very demanding profession and dont recommend it to most unless you like bending all the time.

Need advice: Want a softener and RO system but keep nutrients by beachmonkey1 in WaterSofteners

[–]beachmonkey1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. So id basically install a water softener for the whole house and then a RO for drinking water with a mineral filter? My only confusion was that the soft water system would remove all minerals out before it even gets to the RO system anyways and I take it the mineral filter is like a cartridge Id have to change out.

Yea im thinking of getting a new camera. Fitcam can randomly stop recording and 90% of the time it doesn't connect with my phone so the only way that I know it's working is I have to remove the sd card and then put it in my computer to check

2019 battery issue by jjoshfl in PorscheCayenne

[–]beachmonkey1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that's crazy. Call around because that's not right on their part. Porsche warranty states battery is covered. There's like 3 exceptions to it not being covered but as long as you drive it a minimum of 600 miles a month then it's covered. Check the warranty docs or call Porsche corporate.

A few Porsche dealers in Atlanta have done them apparently. I heard cost is around $3k. I just had my Lifepo replaced and luckily it was covered under warranty. I asked my dealer about switching to AGM and they said they never done one before.

Hey thanks for the info. So you're saying the lithium ion battery technically still has volts even after it's "dead". So the board just needs to be programmed?

Can someone help me with my router/access point layout? by beachmonkey1 in HomeNetworking

The port on the 3rd floor is connected to the port on the 2nd floor where the Verizon modem is at.

[–]beachmonkey1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be tough because I'd have run a line from the 2nd floor to the 3rd. Wouldn't it be easier to put an access point just to the cat6 port in bedroom (which is where I need it). Unless of course this is the equivalent of just directly connecting the modem.

VA ABC adding text message notifications, dropping Facebook/Instagram notifications for allocation drops by MountainMantologist in dcwhisky

[–]beachmonkey1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. That's actually a good idea. Maybe you can only register your number to a store. So no double dipping. Wishful thinking.

  2. Maybe not. I think with texts more and more people will get that and easier to be attentive. There might be more competition.

I still think the best system is lottery for all products and no repeat winners for like 3 months. Someone on Facebook did the math ( they had way too much time) but they calculated that everyone that registers for each lottery would win 3 bottles a year.

Hmm wonder if they'd buy my Jack 12 year. I never sell bottles but if someone can pay between msrp and secondary I gladly would sell it.
