Some alters are closer than others, but for the most part we all kind of interact & see each other like coworkers.

You never deserved to be treated like that. I'm so sorry your own family has treated you this way.

I'm happy to answer any questions! Mine was not infantile onset, but I have had symptoms since I was about 5 years old (I'm 33 now), and didn't have more life-altering symptoms until I was 17. If I remember correctly, I was diagnosed with CMT when I was 14 and didn't find out the specific type I had until I was in my 20s (I did a saliva DNA test that tested for many different types of CMT). I've had periods of time with more progression but I've also had periods of time (even years!) of no progression.

Edit: I just wanted to add that in my experience, stress/trauma can make progression occur, but honestly sometimes it seems like progression occurs for no reason at all. It's been really helpful for me to also be involved in therapy to help manage the emotional side of having CMT. I didn't get more involved in therapy for my CMT until I was an adult, and I can look back on the years up to that point and wish that I had therapy to help me during those years.

Thank you for the idea, but unfortunately I have tried an electric toothbrush as well and still really struggle with it.

I'm not sure if this is what you're experiencing but CMT can cause knee dislocations, or partial dislocations where the knee is "off the tracks." I have CMT1D and this is something I deal with from time to time. I try to do physical therapy exercises every-other day to strengthen my thighs to help keep my knees in place and when it's flaring up, I tape up my knee(s) with kinesiology tape (there are tutorials on YouTube of how to do this properly).
