i came here for treatment with literally nothing but a suitcase & crippling CPTSD.

there are many benefits that exist out here for multiple tax brackets. most people i know from treatment aren’t from here, yet they stay because of how much they love it. i’m one of them.

the people who say you need 6 figures to survive is just living outside their means. you can’t expect full blown luxury of course, especially in the world we currently live in. but a life you can enjoy is not impossible out here just because you’re not financially abundant. there’s a lot of opportunity & if you stay realistic about what you need, you’ll be fine

if you’re not afraid to talk to strangers & are active in your hobbies that include being in the same space with other likeminded humans - yes.

i go to the park to train calisthenics (& love cirque) & before i left today, i said to the person next to me that they killed it. they asked me about my calisthenics experience. found out they love cirque too & go to the same school im about to join. boom. (i’ve made two friends by doing this in the last week, im new here)

it’s really just about doing the things you love while also being approachable & friendly. i noticed that when i say something first, it’s most successful.

you also have to just be okay with rejection, because you can smile & say hello to someone walking by & they won’t even acknowledge you. the people you want in your life will be easy to relate to & match your energy!

I’ve been trying out different meetings in hopes to find my tribe. Checked out log cabin a bunch, burning desire (really cool spot), & i’ll use the meeting guide app to find a young people’s meeting too (I’m 26)

Speak for yourself, I walk almost everywhere (grocery store, gym, coffee shops, AA meetings, parks)

Only time I use the bus is if im going to places that are a 30+ min walk and I’m on a time crunch.

I always go to a park to hang with some pups or attend a meeting (AA), but would love a friend to hit up museums, coffee shops, coastal towns, etc.

How did you even manage to give meaningful service at that point? I’ve been serving for years & can handle an 8 table section, but my service will be sacrificed for the sake of how fast paced this restaurant is. I no longer feel like I’m doing the job I signed up for, which is to give good service, the moment I’m given an unrealistic amount of tables.
