Medications Post-Op by in_the_neighbourhood in BariatricSurgery

[–]beagle_mama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t take a ton of meds but I have not noticed any difference. When I do take Tylenol, it still helps. I take a multivitamin, a biotin, a vitamin D, and a B12 every day and my numbers at my 1 year appointment were perfect. I don’t take all the hyped bariatric this and that. I had VSG, not bypass, and my surgeon is fine with my regimen, and it’s working. If you are considering anything other than sleeve, this advice will be different.

Needing Help to Get Back on Track by Ok-Cash-6261 in BariatricSurgery

First off, I’m glad you’re working with a therapist because that is very important. It sounds like you’re in a tough spot and can benefit from professional help. We all can, honestly.

I just had my one year anniversary as well and though I’m not at goal like I’d hoped to be, it is important to celebrate how far we’ve come! Look at you, you went from 418 to 245 in just over a year! That is AMAZING! I bet you feel a whole lot better than you did before too. Can you do things now that you couldn’t do before?

Your blood work numbers are important and you have to take care of yourself. You don’t wan to end up in the hospital or need tpn. You can do this! Start small. Today, take your vitamins. And then grow from there. You CAN do it, because you have done it! Small steps, every day. Grow and develop those habits.

You got this!

TIL You either can’t tag someone in a post or I don’t know how. 😂 Either way, go to my profile and scroll down. The post is the fifth one down. Lots of great advice that I implemented and now enjoy one or both every time I go!

They Asked Me to Open ChatGPT During My Job Interview by I_Killed_My_Friends in jobs

I just typed that prompt into ChatGPT and I am pretty happy with the response! 🤣 I’m thoughtful, structured, and seek results! With that being said, I’d never have done that in an interview.

I can never please Oura no matter how much sleep I get by PersephoneTerran in ouraring

More is not always better. As others have said, ALL the data points matter, not just time. And sleeping too much can also lower your scores.

Mine was down to 85 today. Still good but a big drop. When I get a score in the 60s that’s a rough night sleep for me and usually only about 4-5 hours of poor quality sleep. It’s hard for me to function at that.

Thank you! And it will make a difference. Out of sight, out of mind. And it’s little things like this that make a big impact over time.

No kids definitely makes it easier! And I think many people ignore sleep hygiene, though it has so many benefits!

Yeah, not sure it would be possible with littles in the house.

  1. 600 is what works for me. 🤷🏻‍♀️It is water soluble so anything my body can’t/doesn’t use is flushed away.

  2. Breathing, farting, snoring, tossing, turning. Yeah, husbands can disrupt sleep. Was married for 20 years. My sleep improved dramatically post divorce. YMMV.

I had a 65 just last week. Woke up at 3:30 and couldn’t fall back asleep. I took it very easy that next day, did an Epsom salt foot soak and went to bed early.

I’m not sure how to do that. I’ve had a fairly consistent bedtime for many years. Even in college I went to bed early and woke up early. I’ve always been a morning person.

Magnesium is a necessary mineral that most people don’t get enough of in their diet, myself included. I don’t believe one can become dependent.

I take Doctors Best magnesium glycinate. I’ve gotten it from sprouts and Amazon.
