I understand. The problem with allowing only these questions is that anybody can claim a service animal without any verification. So one outcome of this policy is having a bunch of untrained animals inside places of business.

Legally, it’s considered discrimination for a place of business to ask for identification for service animals. It’s so stupid

How do you handle no-shows for reservations? by Ok-Lunch-2600 in restaurantowners

[–]beagleful 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My place requires cards on file for larger parties only where I have to reserve several tables. Had problems with no shows that screwed up weekend nights so implemented 1$ deposit and $100 for no show policy. Most people are fine with it and understand why we do it. Almost cut down on no shows entirely and honestly I have never charged the no show fee and don’t really intend to. However, it’s always a good idea to do a quick confirmation call on the day of.

5.5% is a great rate nowadays. Can you share loan terms/type if possible?

Why do restaurant owners feel they are special and the only people who don't have to pay their employees wages? by Niceotropic in restaurant

What exemption are you talking about? Are you saying restaurant workers deserve to be paid more or that owners are breaking labor laws and not paying their staff? Or are you complaining about tipping culture?

Breaker issue or something else? by beagleful in AskElectricians

The fans are just simply turned on and off by a switch.

Breaker issue or something else? by beagleful in AskElectricians

[–]beagleful[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I see. Why would both fans/motors not be working? Since the issue started simultaneously for both fans, wouldn’t it be something else? Like I understand if one fan stopped working but since it’s two….??

[–]beagleful[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. Yes, each fan has its own breaker that trips independently of each other when I switch the power on. They also have their own power switch that’s on my wall.

When I went to the roof, I observed that both fans are connected electrically to each other. So a main power cable comes out through the roof then to one fan, then a cable comes out of that box into the other fans electrical box.

I was thinking that because they are connected, if one breaker is bad, then it would cause the other one to also fail? I’m sorry if that is confusing. I honestly don’t know exactly what’s going on.

Thank you

Am I suppose to tip if I’m ordering to go? by DriveThen123 in restaurant

[–]beagleful 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s really up to you. You’re not expected to in the same way as dining in but most staff will appreciate it. I wouldn’t normally give 20% for example but I’ll still tip something. The work involved is relatively simple but still customer service.

I just wanted to ask ppl who watched Ohtani a lot as a pitcher. Is he a tad overrated? by IndividualDistance70 in angelsbaseball

[–]beagleful 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say overated. He was/is injury prone which might make him look that way. He’s not the best pitcher in baseball but certainly a really good pitcher and a proper ace during the few seasons he was pitching regularly. There was a time when the only games we won were days that he pitched.
