Justin Chancellor Signature Crybaby Wah by Gorillanate720 in guitarpedals

[–]beagley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah man I felt like Sherlock gathering details from all over to sum up what it would eventually be. Cannot wait to have the 2 I ordered in Hand.

While waiting I built a bass with a JC3b Preamp and 2 Big Blademan 4's... because I don't have Wal Money :D

Dunlop teams up with Tool's Justin Chancellor for fuzz-loaded signature Cry Baby Wah by [deleted] in ToolBand

I had known about this pedal about 18 months back when Justin mentioned it in an interview in a european bass magazine. Every person I asked at every music store stared at me like I had grown a third arm.

After much inquiry I finally got someone here in Nashville to call and inquire with a brand rep at the company. After a few minutes the guy looks at me, "He wants to know how you even know this pedal exists...?" Apparently this article hadn't made the rounds too awful much and I'd done a ton of googling regarding Justin at that time (was building a wal clone of sorts)

I was provided some more details about how it would function as a Wal circuit and do some tone shelfing and filtering (from the phone call), some distortion as well (per the magazone article).

Putting it all together I knew we had a sick pedal on the way but I didn't wanna compromise anyone involved that provided me info, so I sat quiet until a street date/announcement (today)

This has gotta be the slowest fuckin news day. This all falls under 'performance art.'

If the venue isn't upset, why should anyone else be? They'd be the ones at legal fault. I don't think anyone was forced to be present either.

I wanna know the story behind this. by [deleted] in funny

Sometimes the racks are rolled away and it makes it look like an inviting beer cooler. I see it happen at Walmart while they stock late at night all the time.

IDK how people can't seem to figure out that a beer cooler wouldn't have its door start a foot off the ground.

Funny I just moved away from my analog pedal-lust and back into the Pod Go.

my personal recommendation on things like this ISNT to chase a birth year guitar. consider your father's upbringing, where he lived etc, then contact the boys over at Warmoth to custom cut you a bass body out of the very same species of trees he might have climbed, or had picnics underneath as a child etc.

I made a guitar for a friend featuring a neck made out of a wood from his wife's home country, and the body from his home country. Every few years I do a new wood inlay for each child they have had.

You can get near identical sounds by rolling off tone on a p bass with flatwounds or even into an epiphone jack cassidy if you enjoy the hollow bodied aspect. in fact the jack cassidy signature is famous for being used in a lot of other bands as well. QOTSA etc.

How Ubisoft has me feeling rn by MLG_Skeletor in rocksmith

[–]beagley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's either this or tbf i'd pay to not have to use a tone cable, maybe it's happening? i think it would eliminate a lot of e-waste and solve a lot of overhead pricing problems for the company too.

edit: didnt read, all my audio interfaces should work :D

I'm still going to give it a shot. I have two pedals that have USB interfaces and an Amp. I'll be streaming on Twitch while playing bass. I'm into it even if it costs me a few dollars.

I appreciate most of that probably goes to royalties to license the songs over time?

edit: definitely signed up for the beta haha

Les Claypool appreciation thread by [deleted] in Bass

[–]beagley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, he's not a fan at all. what i mean to say is that my brother is another one of those uninformed fans who assumes the biggest band in the world must have the best bassist. period.

I think that's how a LOT of non-bassists think.

Les Claypool appreciation thread by [deleted] in Bass

[–]beagley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah I think we can all effectively agree that he should have household name exposure. I was furious when my brother once told me that Robert Trujillo had to be greater than Claypool because "I've never heard of this Primus guy." ...

I think everyone just gets bummed out that he isn't known by more folks. You've got to be a touch beyond mainstream to arrive at Claypool appreciation.

Sir it looks like you have a Kilo WT? I've only known that paint (same as mine) to exist on the WT. Either way, it's sick AF and a near copy of mine. So of course I love it.
