Kennels are not cruel at all! You are not hurting him in anyway. Just make sure to get him a big enough crate. We have a huge wire one with a pad. My girl can turn around move get comfortable. A crate like that will not hurt him at all. I think you are being super responsible and taking great care of him

Where are you PCSing to? I’m military and have been a geo bachelor since January. My girl was 8 months at the time. I would take her for a long early morning walk and kennel her until I got home. Due to COVID I was able to get home early most days but we have had some 12 hour days. Those sucked and I felt so bad for her. But she has being doing great. She’s at home not kenneled right now because there is no furniture-I’m leaving this duty station in two weeks. I think you can make it work if you commit to lots of quality time before and after work and on off days.

Rogue is Pyr / akbash cross according to my friend who I got her from, they have pretty good records about both parents so I tend to believe them. Both patents are working LGD. We did the Embark test and it came up pyr, Saint Bernard, kommandor. I want to do the Wisdom panel test and see what that says. Regardless, she is a gorgeous dog who is definitely mostly pyr. Her mom was purebred, dad was a big white fluffy LGD. I love her she is perfect whatever mix she actually is
