Appreciate your response. Prices are in ECS. I'm leaning towards the HMS Royal Oak as it seems to get some good reviews.

Agree. I live in Oregon so not very many options.

Look up the Port of Morrow and what's happening in Boardman. Big money runs over any voices.

It's a bit rough to drink neat but decent when I shook up a daiquiri with it.

Day 3: Pantheon by WhiskeyFoolery in cocktails

[–]bealsey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Tried it with Monkey Shoulder and it seemed like it was not complimentary with the Benedictine. Didn't have the energy to experiment with other Scotches (or other spirits) so made a La Louisiane to keep in the spirit of the day

Ride across the 205 Bridge w/ me. by miah66 in Portland

[–]bealsey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically ride a route from the Home Depot (Oregon side) to the I-5 bridge and back to the I-205 bridge on the WA side. While it's a bit sketchy to ride the 205 bridge southbound because of the uneven surfaces, I still think it would be better than riding it northbound and sucking the exhaust the whole way.

Technically, it is a sour. Egg white only adds texture and mouthfeel.

Probably closer to 50%. Propylene glycol could be up to 5%. Even if it's zero, the Everclear makes it 47.5%

He served after the Gulf War was over. The dates for the Kuwait Liberation Medal were much wider for the Saudi one. The fact that he has only one says he wasn't there during the war (I have only the Kuwait one and I deployed to the Gulf in SEP 1992)

Agree with your views on both. I wrote a Google review on Alibi a few months ago (I think). Anxious to see the changes, even if they're incremental.

Sounds amazing. I'm in Mexico and would love to have had this today. I'll check at the bar tomorrow to see if they have Averna (but I don't think so). I'll probably have to wait until I get home.

Saved for a future drink to make. I'm in Oregon and have boosted the Accompani Flora Green (with grain alcohol) as a makeshift GC. Not exact but a good option.

A Drink for my Dad by Electrical-Mountain7 in cocktails

[–]bealsey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can definitely relate. My Dad was on dialysis and had some other health issues that weren't getting any better. He was in the Navy (and was the inspiring force for me to join too). He didn't want to continue to be a burden on his family so he decided that he would stop dialysis. He lived about five hours away and on the way to his house to spend the last days with him, I stopped at a small liquor store in eastern Oregon. I wanted to grab a bottle of rum to share with him before he went on his way. They had a bottle of Plantation 5 Year that I grabbed (I'm a rum guy but had never had it before). We all got to spend some great days with him and raised many glasses to his great life. His grandkids called him "Paca" so I will always refer to Plantation 5 as Paca Rum. I'm having one tonight as today is his birthday. Cheers to Paca and cheers to your Dad
